PLEASE do NOT contact the pound directly unless you can adopt or foster, some of our pounds only have one phone line and in some cases you may be tying up the phone lines and not allowing other adopters or fosters get through. We MUST keep those lines open for adopters wanting information - UOD does NOT support, condone or TOLERATE any of our members calling pounds or rescues to unleash your fury on them...... It's Ok to be angry but BE ANGRY at the PREVIOUS owner who has put this fur baby in this position-
Please Tag and Share it saves Lives- ****

Urgent Part 2 - Urgent Death Row Dogs added 4 new photos to the album Urgent - Manhattan.
At only 6 weeks old, Shadow has endured so much. This little guy needs a lot of TLC and medical treatment or possibly surgery for his eyes. Shadow will have no problem finding placement (interest has been shown) but what he needs mostly now is pledges to help go towards his care. Every little bit helps. Thank you. Please share his story and if your stating a pledge please click onto the photo and post it on there. Thank you.

DO NOT call the shelter and say you are adopting unless you truly intend on physically going to the shelter to adopt the cat. It ties up phones lines and is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone for someone who is purposely not going to show up. They need every free second of their time to answer calls, assist actual adopters, process intakes, and care for the animals. More importantly, they will note the cats’s file that an adopter is en route which will prevent an actual adopter from saving the cat. This is considered a "fake adoption" hold and that is how animals fall through the cracks and end up being killed.
For more information on a particular cat, email adoption@nycacc.org but ONLY if serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions.
