This, That and Fukushima Leaking

Japan nuclear plant admits radioactive water leaked to sea --Experts suspected continuous leak since March 2011 22 Jul 2013 A Japanese utility has said its crippled Fukushima nuclear plant is likely to have leaked contaminated water into sea, acknowledging for the first time a problem long suspected by experts. Operator Tokyo Electric Power Co. had previously denied contaminated water reached the sea, despite spikes in radiation levels in underground and sea water samples taken at the plant. Japan's nuclear watchdog said two weeks ago a leak was highly suspected, ordering TEPCO to examine the problem.

Another day, another US coup: US bankrolled anti-Morsi activists [Of course we did. There's money for the Syrian cannibals, privatized education in Pakistan, and Monsanto's seedlings in Iraq. Anywhere but Detroit. Because only US corpora-terrorists and their benefactors can get US tax dollars.] --Documents reveal US money trail to Egyptian groups that pressed for president's removal. 10 Jul 2013 President Barack Obama recently stated the United States was not taking sides as Egypt's crisis came to a head with the military overthrow of the democratically elected president. But a review of dozens of US federal government documents shows Washington has quietly funded senior Egyptian opposition figures who called for toppling of the country's now-deposed president Mohamed Morsi. Documents obtained by the Investigative Reporting Program at UC Berkeley show the US channeled funding through a State Department programme to promote democracy in the Middle East region. This programme vigorously supported activists and politicians who have fomented unrest in Egypt, after autocratic president Hosni Mubarak was ousted in a popular uprising in February 2011. The State Department's programme, dubbed by US officials as a "democracy [sic] assistance" initiative, is part of a wider Obama administration effort to try to stop the retreat of pro-Washington secularists, and to win back influence in Arab Spring countries that saw the rise of Islamists, who largely oppose US [corpora-terrorists'] interests in the Middle East.

Gov. Rick Snyder: Government bailout is the wrong answer for Detroit [Right, only US corpora-terrorists and mercenaries are eligible for US tax dollars.] 21 Jul 2013 Gov. Rick Snyder, R-Dirt-bag-Mich., said Sunday on "Face the Nation" that granting Detroit a government bailout would be the wrong way to help the bankrupt city. "I do not view that as the right answer," Snyder told "Face the Nation" host Bob Schieffer when asked whether he would ask the federal government for a bailout. "The right answer is, bankruptcy is there to deal with the debt question." Snyder said the state cannot bail out Detroit, and while the federal government will make its own decision on a bailout, he said, "I don't expect one."

Senators cancel immigration meeting with lobbyists amid backlash 22 Jul 2013 Architects of the Senate's immigration [aka low-wage labor for corpora-terrorists'] bill on Monday canceled a meeting that had been planned with business groups and other supporters to try to rally momentum for the legislation, in a sign of how difficult it will be to enact the reforms. Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer, Republican Senator John McCain and other members of the "Gang of Eight" that shepherded a sweeping immigration bill through the Senate want to enlist business, labor and religious groups to help persuade members of the House of Representatives to back reform.
