Make Tomorrow Different!

Most animals in shelters will be euthanized. Most of them were someone's pet, a family member.

By the time you read this, many will have been euthanized.

If you're considering a furry family members, please consider shelters and rescues first.

Adoption and transportation information available on links.

Please support Spay & Neuter programs to reduce this tragedy.

Probably getting a license plate wouldn't help in Texas...however, a beating would be the answer to this creep. If someone doesn't surrender animals into a safe environment, they honestly deserve a beating by an entire community. Sorry, just sayin'.

Colorado - owner died, kids don't want the dog and are threatening to take him to the shelter to be euthanized He's intact and has been on a chain all his life Please share! Thanks!
Please read this baby's story! We need a foster! Transport available to Colorado Springs this Saturday! Please help this darling boy! He's been chained his ...entire life!

This poor guys owner was killed in a car accident and the kids dont want to keep deceased parents dog ( really!) Family is threatening to euthanize him. I dont know if this is a scare tactic but they seem callous enough to do so. So I have to take it at face value and say he will be euthanized if we dont find a rescue to take him.

I have minimal info since family isnt local and I have a volunteer looking in on the dog at the deceased parents home.
He is about a year old, no shots or neuter, has lived in the back and on a chain/rope neighbors say. He was a pup in that same yard, so chained a lot of his life, poor boy. Not a barker, has dug some holes but to get out of the heat I surmise. Has fly bitten ears, was with other dogs at one time and so imagine he is ok with other dogs.

We can bring him as far as Co Spgs
10:30 AM this Saturday @ Wag n Wash on Woodmen.

Avail. 7/31, A4611095 (front) is "Einstein", a ...1 y/o white Shepherd/Husky mix who was DUMPED here by his owners 7/25. Avail NOW. Please call the shelter at 661.940.4191 if you are interested in adopting any of the dogs I post. This shelter is a publicly funded County shelter with a high rate of 'strays' and 'owner turn ins' and therefore considered "high kill". if you are interested in any dogs I have listed, I urge you to immediately get in touch with the shelter for their adoption procedure. I have seen it too many times where dog's have lost their lives because someone waited just ONE day too long... When you are networking, tagging, etc. please know that rescue "Pages" do not get notifications when you 'line-tag' them (highlighting the page's name in a 'comment'). If you want a page to see a dog in need, you must post the link to the dog's thread (highlight/copy what is in your browser) ONTO their actual page or 'tag' them in the actual photo! Only 'people' (non-pages) you line-tag will get notified, providing they have this feature not turned "OFF".
Adoption fees at this shelter are $120 or less. There is a $20 license fee which only applies if you are a local resident. All fees include vaccines, micro chip and spay/neuter. Unaltered dogs are released after their spay/neuter, unless they get a waiver due to age or health.
The Lancaster, CA shelter is located at
5210 W. Ave. I
Lancaster, CA 93536
(661) 940-4191
Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Closed Holidays

Directions:
Take the 14 Freeway and exit at Ave. I,
Go 3 miles West to shelter.

NOTE: I am not a rescue, I spread the word about animals in danger at the Lancaster CA shelter which has a very high kill rate compared to other shelters! I don't collect pledges or PM the people who pledged. The person or rescue who saved the animal is responsible for collecting the pledges. I will post a PayPal address or donation information if provided. If you are willing to adopt or have questions on a dog I post, please call the shelter. I have not met ALL dogs I post personally and I can not always call the shelter on every dog to get updates. When I post "no longer listed" this means a dog was either adopted, rescued OR killed. DO NOT DOWNLOAD MY PHOTOS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! PLEASE "SHARE" THEM ON FACEBOOK ONLY. ANYTHING ELSE YOU WISH TO USE MY PHOTOS FOR: PLEASE BE COURTEOUS AND ASK MY PERMISSION SO I CAN DECIDE IF I AM CONTENT WITH WHAT MY PHOTOS ARE BEING USED FOR. THANKS!

A reminder to everyone. Appointments are necessary before going to the shelter. You can get them through email. ctshelterdogs@gmail.com
Animal Control Officers are City Employees. There is only one on duty per shift, and they are running from one call to another. They are only at the shelter if there is an appointment.

LEXUS is a 2 year old, black and rust, cropped and docked female who was surrendered because she didn't get along with the female German Shepherd Dog in their home. The two dogs were kept apart by a gate, but the animosity continued. Although Lexus can be a bit shy at first, overall she is a happy tail wagger who likes people. She is an active, smart and extremely clean girl who has amazed us at DRU by choosing to piddle right over the catch drain in her room. Lexus keeps busy with her beloved toys and bones and she enjoys eating her meals out of a feeder ball. She is crate trained and has good obedience under her belt. Lexus could live with an easy going larger male dog and an active owner who wants to do something with this busy bee. interested contact www.dru.org

Sugar was hit by a car on Saturday night and even though the police and animal control were called, Sugar lay in a ditch for three days, until Donna Ballard and Katie Cox saved her life, when nobody else would. Today, Sugar is undergoing her first surgery and Katie is asking for your prayers and good thoughts for Sugar.
