Injured Pets As Target Practice?

 SHOCKING!!!!
<br />
Merced's Police Policy Is To Take Injured Animals To Their Shooting Range And Shoot Them!!!
<br />
The penal code has been on the books for decades. Some officers say it’s the most humane thing you can do, while others call it barbaric. Watch the news clip: http://cbsloc.al/1eRTHG0
<br />
If you feel that Merced's Police Policy should be changed, please send them a polite email and ask them to stop prolonging the suffering of injured animals by driving them out to the shooting range to kill them at gun point. Encourage them to start working with vets and rescue groups. Their email is: policedepartment@cityofmerced.org

We received a call from a good Samaritan who discovered these 2 Pit Bulls, the mama whom we are calling Mabel (grey) and BonBon (patches/puppy), and has been feeding them and trying to find them a place to go. Here is what she had to say: “There are two sweet dogs that were abandoned in a house in Far Rockaway, Queens. There is one female pitbull that is grey and was used for breeding. She was extremely malnourished but is eating well now and does not have worms in her stool. She has a some sort of growth (maybe a hernia) on her stomach, and her nails need to be trimmed but other than that she is in really good shape. She is extremely nice and loyal. The puppy is missing half of her hair and there is something wrong with her two front legs. The joints seems to either not be fully formed, or they were dislocated at some point. They are currently living in the backyard of our rental bungalow. We are feeding them regularly and they have an indoor ar...ea to sleep in. We need to get them medical attention, and hopefully loving homes as soon as possible.” We would like to take these two dogs into our rescue, but cannot do so without financial support and without a foster home for them to go to.
If you can help sponsor or foster the Rockaway pups, please contact us at 917 689 8414. Thanks!

Update: Sept 7- The Bungalow Babies made it to their foster home today and are enjoying the comforts of a bed, a home, a place to rest their head….perhaps for the first time in their lives. After such a long journey, it’s time to rest and get caught up on their sleep….tomorrow is going to be a great day for exploring. Sweet dreams, Bungalow Babies!
