Restore the Mississippi River Delta
On Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, our staff went to Braithewaite (south of New Orleans). We joined the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation, and community volunteers to plant 250 trees. The day started at 9 am sharp. For all their volunteers, CRCL provided bug spray, sunblock, gloves, backpacks full of useful field items (first aid kit, snacks, etc.) as well as t-shirts.
With a light breeze and a temperature of 80 degrees, it was the perfect field day.
Volunteers load boats with bamboo posts and nutria (an invasive rodent) protectors.
