Tell extreme Republicans: Stop putting our economy at risk

Senator Tammy Baldwin is a hero in Washington, fighting for the future of her constituents in Wisconsin and ALL Americans.

As you know, the sequestration slashed research funding that will impair the ability of the U.S. to compete in global markets in the future.

Tammy Baldwin is fighting for the future of ALL Americans to restore funding.

Please add your name to her petition.

Let's restore sanity to funding.

Innovation has always been key to Wisconsin’s success.

The future of our economy depends on the investments we make today in science, research and technology -- and we need Congress to pass a bipartisan budget that reflects those priorities.

National Institutes of Health (NIH) research investments in Wisconsin add more than $800 million to Wisconsin’s economy every year. So we need to protect and strengthen these investments in economic growth.

But this year, the sequestration cuts supported by the Congressional Republican budget have reduced the NIH budget by $1.55 billion dollars and could lead directly to the loss of over 25,000 jobs across the country.

Add your voice to mine. Tell the extreme Tea Party Republicans that we need a budget that invests in the country’s future. Sign the petition today.
Estimates show that the NIH creates $2 of value in the local economy for every dollar of grant money it spends. If we want our economy to continue to grow, we cannot allow ideological extremists in Congress to slash funds to the NIH and other critical organizations that are creating the jobs that will help us create an economy built to last.

We need Congress to come together and pass a responsible budget that invests in economic growth, improves our global competitiveness, and creates good-paying middle class jobs.

The sequestration is putting our economy at risk. Join me and let the extreme Republicans in Congress know that it’s time to pass a real budget that will move our economy forward.

Thank you for all of your support and for doing your part to help get our economy going again.

Sincerely,

Tammy
