The St. Louis Post-Dispatch just dropped George Will's column because of his outrageous statement that being raped is a "coveted status that confers privileges." Can you chip in $5 to urge other papers to follow its lead?

Last night, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch announced that it will stop printing George Will's regular column as a result of his outrageous statement that being raped is "a coveted status that confers privileges."1

This is huge. The Post-Dispatch is one of the top 30 newspapers in the country--and the first to stop printing George Will's syndicated column.

Now other papers may begin to follow its lead. And if we can get one or two more papers to drop his column, it could start a wave of papers dropping him all over the country.

Can you chip in $5 to run ads in newspapers that print George Will's column, urging them to follow the lead of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch?

Yes, I'll donate $5.
This isn’t about free speech--George Will is free to express whatever misguided ideas he wants to.
The question is whether his views should be printed in hundreds of newspapers all over the country, reinforcing the myth that rape survivors are lying to get special treatment.
That’s why George Will needs to be fired.

This isn’t the first time George Will has used his enormous platform to say something this awful. Not long ago, he compared Obamacare to the Fugitive Slave Act.2 He's compared climate scientists to Nazis.3 And he has a long history of ethical lapses, failing to disclose payments he or his wife received to advance the views expressed in his columns.4

Enough is enough. If George Will wants to espouse these kinds of fringe views, he should do it from a fringe media outlet, not some of the most respected news outlets in the country.

Thanks for speaking out.
