...how 'bout his RECORD?

New Hampshire has a great Seantor, Jeanne Shaheen who has stood up to vested interests!

This from Senator Shaheen:

I wanted to make sure you saw this note from me last week on the 79th anniversary of Social Security.
On that day last week, I was proud to stand with seniors from across New Hampshire, talk about my record of protecting social security and commit to keeping our promise to seniors.

But special interests have repeatedly tried to renege on that promise and end social security. We cannot let that happen.

No cuts to Social Security! take action now to defend our promise to seniors.Dear Frank,
Seventy-nine years ago today, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Social Security into law. This landmark legislation raised millions of seniors out of poverty and allowed Americans to retire with dignity and confidence.
But powerful special interests and their extreme allies have repeatedly worked to end Social Security and renege on the promise we've made to our seniors. We cannot let that happen. Not now, not ever.
In Congress, I made sure cuts to Social Security were off the table. I even took on my own party to oppose the chained CPI proposal for Social Security, which would have calculated benefits differently and left our seniors with less.
There are more than 185,000 Granite State seniors on Social Security today, and so many more who have benefited from this program during the last 79 years. For all of these seniors and for generations to come, I want Social Security to continue to be a source of retirement security. That’s why on this anniversary, I'm standing with grassroots supporters across the country to defend Social Security.
Thank you,
Jeanne
