Taxpayer Funded Dirty Fuel Pipeline in Massachusetts?

Thanks, but no thanks.

Momentum is building to stop the new dirty gas pipeline proposed to be built across Massachusetts.

First, hundreds of you showed up for town meetings where the pipeline would cut through our land.

Then, thousands of you flooded Governor Patrick's inbox with messages opposing the pipeline.

And this week, nearly one thousand people participated in the rolling march across the state culminating in a rally outside the State House.1

We've won the support of many of our state legislators2 and this week Governor Patrick had no choice but to meet with a delegation from the hundreds of people showing up to rally outside the State House. Now we're working to win support from the taxpayer's advocate, Attorney General Martha Coakley. We need her to add weight to our message that a new pipeline is not good for the Commonwealth.

Last year Massachusetts became the most energy efficient state in the country,2 and we're one of the top states for solar.3 New fossil fuel infastructure, like this pipeline, would lock us into more dirty energy for years to come. What's worse is that the pipeline company, Kinder Morgan, will reap all the profits since you and I will be paying for it with a tax on our energy bills.

That doesn't sound fair, does it? That's why we urgently need your help.

Thank you for helping us get closer to victory!

Sincerely,

Sylvia Signature
