YES! on Question 4 makes sense!

In Massachusetts, we have a great deal for which to be proud in the great DEMOCRATIC delegation we send to Washington to represent the people of Massachusetts and the future of our nation.

Congressman McGovern, along with colleagues Rep. Katherine Clark, Rep. Niki Tsongas have always stood for what's right and what makes sense....now, more than ever, passing Question 4 makes sense!

 

 

 

 

Massachusetts voters have the opportunity to make history on November 4th. Voting YES on Question 4 would expand earned sick time to over one million new workers.

 

 

It’s astonishing to me that the United States of America remains the only highly-developed nation that denies its workers paid sick leave. Every day, we put millions of workers in an impossible position: Take care of themselves or a sick family member and risk losing their paycheck or job, OR go to work while sick or abandon a sick loved one in order to earn a living and keep their job.

It’s time to remedy this situation!

Question 4 would allow all workers to earn one hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours, time that can be used for the employee’s own health needs or the health needs of a child, parent, spouse or parent of a spouse. No worker should have to choose between caring for themselves or a sick family member and their job. That’s why earned sick leave is so important – and that’s why I’ll be voting yes on Question 4. I hope you’ll be joining me.



Massachusetts has always been a leader in expanding opportunities and rights to every American. We were the first state to implement universal health care, which was later adopted by the entire nation. Our innovation has spurred progress nationwide, and this year, we have the chance to do it again. We simply can’t afford not to do this.
