MIDDLEBORO– Albert (Bud) F. Soule Jr. of 89 School Street, Middleboro, MA died on Tuesday, January 27, 2014 at the Bourne Manor Nursing Home in Bourne, MA. Bud was the son of the late Albert F. and Alberta N. Soule, and was born in Middleboro, MA, on June 14,1923.

He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Thalia F. Soule, his son, Charles F. Soule and wife, Sue of Wareham, his daughter, Carol E Carver and husband Michael of Middleboro. He was also the father of the late, Donald F. Soule. Bud is also survived by his two sisters, Barbara W Bigelow of Middleboro and Katherine F. Young of Greenville, SC and his two brothers, Charles E Soule and wife Elna of Nantucket, and George M Soule and wife Janet of Middleboro. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren, Jeremy D Soule, Kristopher M Carver and wife Shara, Jennifer C Ring and husband Adam, and Levi D Soule, and his great-grandchildren, Jeremy D Soule Jr., William Soule, Madison Soule, Wyatt Carver, and Samantha Ring.

Bud graduated from Memorial High School in 1941 and attended the University of New Hampshire before entering the military service during World War II. He was a flight instructor and pilot in the Marine Corps, and also served in the Korean War.

Following his service connected responsibilities, Bud was a high school Math teacher and guidance counselor in the Middleboro, Sharon, and Bridgewater, MA schools as well as the North Plainfield, New Jersey school system. He was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Middleboro where he served on many committees. Bud also served on the Capital Campaign Committee for the Middleboro YMCA.

Bud will be remembered for his love of children, and the responsible manner in which he assumed family, church, and community tasks. He was an ardent New England Patriot and Middleboro Cobras football fan.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 8th@ 2:00P.M. at the Unitarian Church in Middleboro followed by a reception at the Middleboro Lodge of Elks from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Camp Activities at the Unitarian Church of Middleboro.
