Pennsylvania Rhonda Peterson, 51-year-old starved dog, invents fabricated story

Women arrested after lying to police about a dog she killed.

1220008_630x354This story gets really twisted as authorities investigated what actually happened to Sweet Sally. According to a Rhonda Peterson, 51-year-old , she “found” the dog abandoned along a highway in Deerpark, NY. Peterson reported to investigators that she “observed something laying on the side of the road” on February 24 and pulled over to investigate, where she found the dog unable to move.

The worst was discovered. Investigators determined that Sweet Sally was not found abandoned and instead was transported from her home in Pennsylvania, directly to the Humane Society by the person claiming to have found her. She was never left alone along the highway.
The Eastern Pike Regional Police Department arrested Rhonda Peterson, who has been charged in Pennsylvania with cruelty to animals and abandonment. She faces a fine with the possibility of jail time. Now, we all know in most cases like this the abuser will probably get no jail time and a small fine. Is this punish enough? Tell me what you guys think about this in the comments below. Should Mrs. Peterson have a harsher punishment?
