One Boston Day

Apologies for the delay posting.

Two years ago, Lauren and I were gearing up for the Boston Marathon and wondering how on earth we were going to make it across that finish line.

We managed to do it -- thanks in no small part to the community that cheers you on every step of the way.The child clapping on his dad's shoulders, the college kids holding signs of encouragement, the total strangers that urge you to keep going as you struggle up Heartbreak Hill.
That's what will always define the Boston Marathon. Not sadness, fear or anger -- but the resilience that courses through our Commonwealth.

Mayor Marty Walsh has declared today One Boston Day, to “honor the bravery, the resolve and the unity of the City by reaching out, helping those in need, and committing random acts of kindness.”

I hope you’ll join me with an act of kindness today. Let's show the world we are as strong and united as ever.
