Jon Stewart: Democrats to Blame for Rise of 'Man-Baby' Trump

The prominent political satirist blamed the popularity of Donald Trump on Democrats who failed to create an efficient and effective U.S. government.
he Democratic Party and the current U.S. government are to blame for the rise of ‘man-baby’ Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, prominent comedian and former host of “The Daily Show” Jon Stewart said during an interview published Monday.
“At some level, and I will lay the blame with Democrats, the door is open to an asshole like Donald Trump because the Democrats have not done enough to show the people that government can be effective for people and can be efficient for people,” Stewart told David Axelrod, the former chief adviser to President Barack Obama, at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics.
He added that “and if you can't do that then you lost the right to make that change and someone is going to come in a demagogue you.”
Stewart spoke in length of his experience working with U.S. army veterans as he joined their struggle for obtaining healthcare and other services from the government amid great deal of bureaucracy and apathy by senior government officials.
“If you can do an executive order to kill an American citizen from above with a missile, how can you not do an executive order to reevaluate the DoD [Department of Defense] and the VA [Veteran Health Administration] system so you do not spend a billion dollars trying to get two computer programs to talk to each other,” the leading voice in political satire in the United States said.
But amid the real talk, Stewart could not help but poke fun at Trump as he questioned his eligibility for running the country while being a “man-baby”.
“I’m not a constitutional scholar, so I can’t necessarily say, but are you eligible to run if you are a man-baby, or a baby-man?” Stewart said to laughs and applause from the crowd. “He has the physical countenance of a man and a baby’s temperament and hands.”
Asked about Democratic candidate for president Hillary Clinton, Stewart did not hold back on his criticism as he slammed the former first lady over the lack of clarity in her policies.
He called Clinton a “very bright woman without the courage of her convictions, because I’m not even sure what they are.”
He added “that is not to say that she is not preferable to Donald Trump because, at this point, I would vote for Mr. T over Donald Trump."
Stewart also criticized the media in the United States on both sides of the political scene who have been giving voices for "the most conflict-oriented, the most extreme," and Trump's strategy has been to capitalize on such flawed journalism.
