Frank: One month from today Vermont will become the first state in the nation to require labeling of genetically modified foods.
After Vermont passed its labeling law, Big Ag went on the attack in Congress, pushing the DARK Act – a bill to block all state labeling laws. In the face of tremendous opposition Vermont’s U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy has been by my side in the fight to protect the right of Americans to know what’s in our food. Together, we defeated Big Ag’s attempt to pass the DARK Act earlier this year and are holding firm.
Now, Vermont Republican businessman Scott Milne, who claimed he has a “shot at taking [Leahy] out,” has launched a campaign to try to unseat our friend and ally, Pat Leahy.
Today, I’m joining with progressive leaders to rally support for Pat Leahy. Chip in $9 right now and let’s show the wealthy special interests we have Pat’s back!
As the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Pat was the first senator to meet with President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland -- and he has been one of the most vocal Democrats calling on Republicans to do their jobs and immediately schedule a hearing for the judge.
Named “Most Valuable Senator” in 2014 by The Nation magazine, there's simply too much at stake to let the right wing take out Senator Leahy.
Make a $9 donation right now on this "Day of Action" and stand with Pat Leahy!
Jeff
P.S. Unless you specify otherwise on the ActBlue donation page, your contribution will be split 50/50 between Patrick Leahy and my leadership PAC so I can continue helping other Senate candidates and we can take back the Senate!
