Toxics Action Center: 16-0. Take that, plastic.

It's time!

Earlier this week, I reached out to tell you about the Mass Green Network, a new organizing project that has found a home at Toxics Action Center.

Back in February, I helped organize the first ever Mass Green Network Summit. Nearly 100 community activists came together to share strategies and lessons for organizing locally to reduce plastic waste.

Now, just a few short months later, those same activists have succesfully passed plastic bag bans or polystyrene regulations in 16 Massachusetts cities and towns, winning every campaign they've waged.

They've won national recognition for their work helping youth lead local fights against plastic. And they've created critical momentum for a statewide bag ban that recently passed the state Senate.

Mass Green Network members are proving that local democracy is thriving in Massachusetts. I'm so proud to stand with them, and with you.   Here's to a future free of plastic!
