What is Julian saying that is not true? The people who want him dead, how many innocent people are they responsible for killing? I admit that as a political exercise, this is a tough one for me.
If Trump were elected, what good things will he do for the US.
Well, good is a relative term. What I consider good is likely not what Trump supporters consider good. I would, a few months ago, have said that I believe there are general statements we all -- Left and Right, Liberal and Conservative, Republican and Democrat -- ALL agree on. For example, I would have bet most of us could agree on "slavery is bad." But after watching conservatives led by Bill O'Reilly turn into slavery apologists following Michelle Obama's speech at the DNC, I've given up on that notion.
I would love to have a Democrat and a Republican that I could live with. That I believed would do good works even if I didn't agree with everything.
I don't much care for Hillary Clinton. It's a personal thing. Maybe I'm just sick of hearing the name Clinton after all these years. I dunno. But I support her. I will vote for her. I believe she will do good things -- good things as I define them. I do feel she'll do things I don't agree with, things I consider bad for the country. BUT I believe in Clinton's case the good things will far outweigh the bad things.
Trump? I don't like Trump either. I'm sick of his name, I'm sick of his TV shows, I'm sick of his bombast, I'm sick of him. He's the blowhard at the party, at EVERY party. That said, if I thought he'd do good things I still might vote for him, if I thought the good outweighed the bad. But I don't. And why should I? Torture, murder of civilians, genocide -- these are all things Trump says he'll do as President. Freedom of the press, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, these are all rights Trump has targeted as a candidate and I have no reason to believe he won't continue that as President. His economic plan is more of the same old trickle-down bullshit, the rich get tax breaks and we get whatever drips down our necks. He wants to build walls, I spent most of my adult life fighting against Freedom's enemies -- they all loved walls too. Thirty years ago I cheered as a Republican president stood in Berlin and demanded that the Soviets tear down their wall, I won't support a man who wants to build another one. I don't want to live in an armed camp surrounded by barbed wire and machine guns and rubbing elbows with militia nuts. Trump is tearing his own party apart and sexually molesting the corpse, why should I believe he can unite America? Nothing, not one word, he's said makes me believe he can rally and inspire his own party, let alone the country or the world. His rallies are full of Klansmen and Neo-Nazis, they throw people out, smash heads, not bring people together. He surrounds himself with haters and goons and morons and bigots and you will NEVER find me standing with those people -- I will ALWAYS be on the other side, standing toe to toe against that mob and what they believe. I oppose everything Trump stands for and the ruined party he represents.
You ask me for the good things he'll do?
I can't think of a single thing.
