Campaign for America's Future: Mike Pence's Dangerous Ignorance

Big Coal’s Best Friend

Mike Pence is every bit as dangerous and dishonest as Donald Trump.
When he says he wants to “end the war on coal” he’s singing from a hymnal penned by Charles and David Koch. Pence has long been a favorite of the billionaire brothers. He’s spoken at their conferences and introduced their bills in Congress and the Indiana legislature. His reward? Millions in campaign cash.
Pence has a long history as a special interest slot-machine. As recently as 2000, he claimed “smoking doesn’t kill.” Brown & Williamson, Philip Morris, R.J. Reynolds, and US Tobacco gave generously for that line.
The fact is, there is no “war on coal.” But the coal industry is waging a war on the planet - and it’s time to fight back.
Campaign for America’s Future has partnered with People’s Action on this effort. Together, we’re organizing petitions and a broad media campaign to change the narrative and challenge the polluters.
The Campaign for America’s Future/Institute For America's Future is the strategy center for the progressive movement. Our goal is to forge the enduring progressive majority needed to realize the America of shared prosperity and equal opportunity that our country was meant to be.
Driving the Movement

The Campaign for America’s Future is driving our progressive movement and offering the new vision, bright ideas and bold leadership Americans rightly demand.
