CounterCurrents: Death By Demonetisation, Rand Paul Heroically Warns Trump Against Hiring Neocons
Dear Friend,
The demonitisation move in India has claimed at least 47 lives. Of course, it could be much more. Oliver DSouza writes, "in any other developed country there would already have been FIRs of culpable homicide against the Union Cabinet and Council of Ministers over the deaths that have so far occurred in connection with the fallout of demonetization". Why is that not happening in India? It's because, "Life in India is cheap, DAMN CHEAP". Incidentally, it's the name of a Facebook group I created some time back.
People are protesting. My friend Jagadish Chandra and 30 activists arrested protesting against demonetisation in Bangalore. They are still in police custody.
Satya Sagar gives a very good overview of the demonitsation move in his article "Death By Demonetisation". Don't miss this one.
In Part III of our video series "India Speaks" Koli fisherwomen of Mumbai who are bearing the brunt of this sudden demonetization. They are highly disillusioned by the government who comes begging to them for votes, but ends up protecting the rich. They ask when the poor needs the government, why don’t they listen?
Brian Terrell and friend of Voices for Creative Nonviolence visits Russia and finds nothing of the massive preparations for war there that are being reported in the Western media
Also more stories from around the world.

30 people from various left organisations, who organised a protest in Banglore against the demonetisation of the Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes, have been arrested a few hours ago. Death By Demonetisation
by Satya Sagar

The abrupt demonetisation of 500 and 1000 rupee notes by the Narendra Modi regime is a drastic move that is staggering in its scale, ambition and repurcussions. The only other figures in modern history one can think of, devious or stupid enough to attempt something similar, are the likes of Marcos, Suharto, Idi Amin and Pol Pot.
Black Money, Multiple Demonetisation Spinoffs, Disastrous Prospects

Now, falling in line with political expediency is being pushed as ‘patriotism’, so it appears from RSS spokesman Ram Madhav’s statement ‘patience of people queuing up outside ATMs and banks is a test of their patriotism. Whereas, one supposes that the criminality that led to the death of 30 people so far should be excused in the name of ‘nationalism’! In reality, in any other developed country there would already have been 30 FIRs of culpable homicide against the Union Cabinet and Council of Ministers over the 30 deaths that have so far occurred in connection with the fallout of demonetization.

A Visit To Russia For “Life Extension” Of The Planet
by Brian Terrell

Shortly after leaving Nevada, I was in Moscow, Russia, as part of a small delegation representing Voices for Creative Nonviolence from the United States and United Kingdom. Over the next 10 days in Moscow and St. Petersburg, we saw nothing of the massive preparations for war there that are being reported in the Western media. We saw no sign of and no one we spoke to knew anything about the widely reported evacuation of 40 million Russians in a civil defense drill.
Rand Paul Heroically Warns Trump Against Hiring Neocons
by Eric Zuesse

U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky), who voted against Obama’s TPP and virtually every other Obama sell-out to the international corporations which control the U.S. federal government, publicly warned the Republican President-Elect Donald Trump, on Tuesday November 15th, that John Bolton, whom many allege is being seriously considered for a high position in a Trump Administration such as Secretary of State, is a rabid neoconservative who “is a longtime member of the failed Washington elite that Trump vowed to oppose, hell-bent on repeating virtually every foreign policy mistake the U.S. has made in the last 15 years — particularly those Trump promised to avoid as president.”
Can A President Trump Follow His Signature Agenda?

As with most things in life, the reality within is much more complex than the view from outside. Mr. Trump might find his hands are tied for his signature issues.

It would be in the fitness of things that AIMPLB must address the issue of Triple Talaq, model Nikahnama, family planning, Codification of Muslim personal law and socio-economic backwardness of Muslims and issues and problems identified by the Sachchar Committee.
Kashmir: Sadbhavana To Scorched Earth!
by Mohammad Ashraf
http://www.countercurrents.org/2016/11/17/kashmir-sadbhavana-to-scorched-earth/
Goodwill of late nineties has been replaced by the worst form of repression reminiscent of the Scorched Earth policies of retreating armies in the Second World War!
