John McCain Stands Up To Donald Trump, Makes DEFIANT Russia Investigation Statement

U.S. Senator John McCain is shaping up as one of the Capitol Hill leaders most determined to undermine one of President-elect Donald Trump’s most outrageous positions…His disturbing, near treasonous capitulation to Russia.

Russia, historically, is an adversary of the United States. For decades, in a world-shaking power struggle, the former Soviet Union and the United States haggled over nuclear weapons, with diplomats carefully crafting policies in an effort to keep one nation from destroying the other and the rest of the world in the process.
Russia, as led, at present, by Vladimir Putin, just carried out a massive, cyber attack driven campaign to alter the course of the American presidential election. Russian hackers stole documents from key figures in the American Democratic Party, and then released these documents to the public, all in an effort to bolster Donald Trump’s bid for the presidency.
There is substantial evidence, evidence that is being put forward by none other than the CIA, that the allegations about Russia driving a cyber attack against the U.S. are, in fact, true. Little doubt remains that this happened.
And yet, in the face of mountains of evidence, President-elect Donald Trump still absolutely refuses to acknowledge that Russia-led cyber attacks against the U.S. took place. Occasionally, he has even offered up the suggestion that Russia did in fact carry out the hacks, but then declares it effectively irrelevant.
Not only is Trump trying to normalize serious, election altering foreign interference in U.S. politics, but he is also taking other concrete steps to mold the U.S. government in a way that’s more likable to Russia.
For example, Trump named a startling figure to serve as his Secretary of State for at least the next 4 years, Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson. What’s notable, and disturbing, about Tillerson is that he sits so deeply in Russia’s pocket that he at one point received the highest civilian honor granted by the former Soviet nation. John McCain railed took note of this and railed against Tillerson, saying that he would never accept any such honor from such a dangerous man as Vladimir Putin.
All of this disturbing nonsense, for what it’s worth, is largely born out of the president-elect’s business ties to Russia. He does not see the world through the eyes of a man determined to represent the people of the United States; rather, Donald Trump sees the world through the eyes of a man determined to build his own personal financial empire.
And U.S. Senator John McCain is one of those not interested in putting up with any of that.
He kicked off his opposition to Trump’s cozying up to Putin with a dramatic statement that addressed Putin’s stated intentions to work towards becoming a stronger ally of United States. In it, he referred to Putin as a “former KGB agent who has plunged his country into tyranny, murdered his political opponents, invaded his neighbors, threatened America’s allies, and attempted to undermine America’s elections.”
McCain’s actions have led electoral college member Brent Budowsky to comment in a column published in The Hill that “his vision is clear, his courage is real and his political courage is boundless,” adding:
‘Every American should offer a standing ovation to Sen. John McCain for having the courage, clarity and integrity to publicly and unequivocally denounce Russian dictator Vladimir Putin for his murderous bombing in Syria and his attacks against American democracy.’
McCain is one of the key Congressional leaders set on acting, when it comes to accepting Trump’s proposals — or not — outside of a mindset that focuses on party loyalty.

Scot Gassen It's more than encouraging that GOP Sen. John McCain is stepping up and drawing a line in the sand over the corrupt, dangerous connection between Trump and Putin. Trump burned many bridges during the election campaign. When Trump trivialized John McCain's personal history as a POW hero by disrespectfully saying, "I like people who don't get captured, okay?" I thought that all military personnel who are currently serving, all veterans and many other citizens would've pulled the plug on ever supporting and voting for this obviously unqualified, unworthy presidential candidate. But here we are today with president elect Donald Trump after many other incidents that disqualified him from ever becoming POTUS.
