CounterCurrent: At Last Some Action Against IG Kalluri Of Bastar

Dear Friend,

In an extraordinarily bellicose statement Wednesday, US National Security Adviser Michael Flynn accused Iran of “destabilising behaviour across the Middle East” and warned, “As of today we are officially putting Iran on notice.”

It is extraodrinary times in USA. It's an age of malevolence. It's time to fight writes Romi Mahajan.

Daag Ujjala writes "we must fight the encroaching fascism. We must fight it hard and fight it now. This time, fascism is global in its implications and nuclear in its capabilities." Time to sit up and take heed.

Some respite for the suffering Adivasis in the Bastar of Chhattisgarh, India. Their tormentor IG Sri SRP Kalluri has been asked to proceed on long leave.

And also more stories from around the world.

If you don't mind, and if you think the content of this news letter is critical for the dignified living and survival of humanity and other species on earth, please forward it to your friends and spread the word. The Right-Wing Record Of Supreme Court Nominee Neil Gorsuch
by Tom Carter

http://www.countercurrents.org/2017/02/02/the-right-wing-record-of-supreme-court-nominee-neil-gorsuch/

On Tuesday, Donald Trump nominated Neil Gorsuch, a federal appeals court judge from the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, to the Supreme Court seat formerly held by arch-reactionary justice Antonin Scalia. Within Republican circles, the nomination was generally met with approval. Gorsuch was considered by the “mainstream” Republican establishment to have the requisite right-wing credentials, including his proven reactionary record as well as his aristocratic pedigree.

Embracing Malevolence Is Never The Answer
by Romi Mahajan

We must fight. We must never embrace malevolence. That is never the answer- there is nothing here that might bend with love, nothing here that might cool and melt with empathy. There is no time to be detained with thoughts like “this is ignorance.” This is not ignorance. This is planned, volitional, and wanton malevolence.

The Brexit Debate: Down The Rabbit Hole With Parliament
by Dr Binoy Kampmark

What was being witnessed on the last day of January, and first day of February was not one nation but several.    Whether this does spell folly for the UK, doom the EU, or signal a revolution beyond borders that breeds order from chaos remains the stuff of dreams or nightmares. With a historian’s goggles we watch to see how this movement evolves, with its steps into a new world darkly.

We Must Fight

Trump And The War On Windmills!

However, it is evident that the American society is much polarised now. And nobody can predict where the thing goes in the future. But No doubt Trump fights a war he can never win. And no doubt that he creates an atmosphere of a clash between cultures that needed time to be cleaned.

Democracy And The Corporation: Coporatizing The World
by Mirza Yawar Baig

What the Corporate State can’t stand is the light of day on its activities. So accurate reporting of facts, shining the light of enquiry on shady deals, asking the unasked, speaking the unspoken and raising your voice against injustice right at its inception, are all necessary. Technology today gives us the ability to do all of this without depending on the Corporate Media to give us space. Thanks to the internet, camera mobiles, smart phones and the ability to upload images and text from almost anywhere, it is possible today to ensure that at least those who are interested can see the side of the picture that the likes of CNN, Times, Fox and other mouthpieces of the establishment have been hiding.

Clamoring For Israeli Approval: Trump’s Election Promises Will Haunt Him
by Dr Ramzy Baroud

http://www.countercurrents.org/2017/02/02/clamoring-for-israeli-approval-trumps-election-promises-will-haunt-him/

The fact is that Trump’s lack of clear foreign policy that aims at creating stability -not rash decisions to win lobby approval – is a dangerous political strategy. He wants to reverse the legacy of his predecessor, yet has no legacy of his own, which is the very formula needed to invite more violence and to push an already volatile region further into the abyss.
