South Africa is in turmoil. The South African people are fed up with the corruption, nepotism and the neoliberalist agenda of the Jacob Zuma regime. People are agitating. Prithiraj Dullay a compatriot of Steve Biko sees the emergence of a new dawn in South Africa. He hopes this could be the beginning of a new South African revolution.

In India, the ruling far right Bharatiya Janata Party and its handlers the semi-fascist RSS is on a rampage. Guajarat state has passed a law giving life term for cow slaughter, "Those guilty of cow slaughter will be hanged" says another chief minister. It looks like India is fast turning into inot a Hindurashtra. The opposition is in quandry after the trouncing it faced in the all important Uttar Pradesh (UP) election. Moreover, the minorities in India is facing an existential crisis. Nobody seems to have a clear vision of how to handle the fascist onslaught. Mirza Yawar Baig gives some practical solutions for Indian Muslims to move forward. This article needs to be widely read and discussed.

I believe the time has come for Indian Muslims to rethink their very existence in this country. We are Indians by choice. We love our country and want to contribute to its development. Therefore, it is time to stop living in isolation and start participating in every aspect of life in our country as CONTRIBUTORS. Not merely whine and complain about negative things that happen to us but do nothing positive to help others.Nobody can harm us – unless we allow it. All this will take time and effort. All this will be painful at least to some. All this needs serious investment of funds. But without it, we will cease to exist as relevant and significant members of this society. The writing is on the wall. The choice is ours.
