Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan Backs Qatar In Dispute With Saudi Arabia
by Abdus Sattar Ghazali

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has defended Qatar after Saudi Arabia and several other countries severed diplomatic ties with it for supporting Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. President Erdogan is the Chairman of the 57-member Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Ironically, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, Libya and Maldives are members of the OIC.

Punishing Qatar
by Dr Binoy Kampmark

Yet it was Saudi Arabia, along with Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Yemen and Libya insisting that Qatar was the destabilising influence in the region. (The others were naturally innocent of that.)  All land, air and sea traffic would be halted with the state, while diplomatic missions would be removed.  Qatari citizens would also be given their marching orders, having to leave within 14 days.

Courage For Peace, Not For War, In Afghanistan
by Kathy Kelly

When activists like me return from visiting the Afghan Peace Volunteers in Kabul, Afghanistan, young seamstresses there often entrust each of us with about fifty sky-blue scarves. The word “Borderfree” is carefully embroidered, in English, on one end of each scarf; on the opposite side, they’ve stitched the translation in Dari, the language they speak. The scarves express their yearning to end four decades of war in Afghanistan, a land dominated by ruthless warlords.

Paris Quartet
by David Sparenberg

Stop!  Isn’t it disturbingly past time to find a way out of this? Destruction is the status quo.  To find a way out of the pandemic without getting out of here.  Changing that is, in the Einstein way, inside to out, before we lose our one only planet home.  Family and our planet home.  Isn’t it time?  Isn’t it?

Torment In American Sports And The Star Spangled Banner: A Life Sketch Of Colin Kaepernick
by Irwin Jerome

Perhaps it’s now time for Kaepernick to give the NFL a pass and seriously consider going to Canada and trying out for the Canadian Football League’s Montreal Alouettes and, if chosen for the team, see if he can match the awesome record of their now retired legendary quarterback Anthony Calvillo.

Twilight Of The American Century And Chinese Ascendancy
by Jon Kofas

Even with Trump and world populism and economic nationalism on the rise, it is difficult to see many governments and multinational corporations not advocating China’s ascendancy, even if many favor self-imposed growth limits to achieve greater global equilibrium.

India’s Elites Are Hypocrites No Matter What Political Party They Are In
by Anandi Sharan

After three years of the farce of BJP rule at the centre it is to be hoped that innocent Hindus wake up to the hypocrisy of the BJP’s appeal to us in the name of religion, which is not only illegal under the Representation of People Act 1951 but an ill-disguised hypocrisy to hide the sell out of sovereignty at a scale never yet seen in India, being perpetrated by the first ever self-proclaimed, and illegally so, Hindu Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, an anti-national Indian if there ever was one.

There Is An Alternative: A Story From Kerala
by Hisham Ashraf

In a historical first, the government of a state has absolutely ‘shocked’ Indian democracy by submitting its progress report for public evaluation on completion of the first year of its tenure.

Kashmir, A Separate Country!

UN showing Kashmir as a separate country confirms the historical fact known right from the ancient times!

They Came For Our Children
by Rajaraman Sundaresan

We grew up looking at the stars in the sky,
Every morning we wake up to the screeching sounds,
We happily lived in our beautiful homes that you derogatorily call jungle,
But one fine day they, came for our children.
