Healthcare-NOW! : Krugman: "Time to Pushback" Against Single Payer

Dr. Mary Travis Bassett,

NYC Commissioner of Health

Don't we have enough opponents of single payer - insurers, pharmaceutical companies, GOP leadership, etc. - without the shameless ladder-climbers of the Democratic establishment joining their ranks?

Paul Krugman wrote in his column this week that it's "time for a little pushback" to the Medicare for All movement, firing up the usual warnings about taxes and political feasibility, and even questioning whether or not the issue was important. Vox has published similar pieces over the past couple of weeks.

Knowing that we have to meet this well-funded and well-connected resistance with serious resources, our ally Physicians for a National Health Program has pledged to MATCH every donation that we receive during August up to $5,000! Give today and your gift - no matter how much - will be DOUBLED!

With Bernie Sanders set to introduce a Medicare for All bill in the Senate soon, and the House bill breaking the cosponsorship record every week, single payer is pretty high profile right now. Our success was bound to invite serious flak - and this is just the beginning.

Yours in solidarity,
Ben and Stephanie
