In 2017, the FCC made a disastrous decision. They rolled back net neutrality rules and turned our internet over to special interests.
Since then, I've fought tooth and nail to make net neutrality the top of our agenda in the U.S. Senate and Congress -- and today, I'm reaching out to let you know we have a chance to undo that disastrous decision.
I've introduced the Save the Internet Act, a bill that would reverse the FCC's decision and keep the internet open and free. Now, I need you to show that you're ready for Congress to take action!
With a Democratic House and more Americans in favor of net neutrality than ever before, we have a real chance to pass net neutrality protections in both Houses.
However, I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Our opponents want to throttle your internet speeds and divide us into fast and slow lanes. And the longer we wait to act, the more time special interests have to mobilize and stall this bill.
I'm proud to be leading the fight to protect our free and open internet. And I know that we're closer than ever to making net neutrality the law of the land. But Congress has to act now.
Thank you,
Maria Cantwell
U.S. Senator
