Yesterday Mid Hudson Animal Aid, a local no kill cat shelter in Beacon, suffered a fire in one of their cat isolation wards. 8 cats perished and 3 more are critically wounded, but thanks to the dedicated staff and local firemen, the majority of the 160 kitty population survived the fire.
Mid Hudson Animal Aid is in need of monetary donations now and will be in great need of foster homes and other recovery volunteers. If you or someone you know can help please pass this information along to them.

Fire ravaged the isolation ward of our cat sanctuary, taking the lives of eight of our cats. Three remain in oxygen tents in the critical care unit of the vet hosptial and six are still unaccounted for. All of the remaining residents were safely evacuated, evaluated and placed in carriers prior to thier assignement to a foster care placement. Two additional kittens were abandoned and another cat needing a leg amputation was delivered to the vet moments before the fire.
What we lost today can never be replaced, but we do need support to rebuild, heal and move forward with our vital work. Please donate and share this with everyone you know.

Can someone adopt this dog in the San Bernardino, CA area? Please share.
I limit my networking to San Bernardino City shelter, but someone sent this to me and I could not allow this baby to be ignored. He is crying real tears! He is ...only FOUR POUNDS and was found on the mean streets of LA as a stray and is now at West Valley Animal Care & Control
I AM NOT NETWORKING THIS DOG, NOR COLLECTING PLEDGES FOR THIS DOG. I AM SIMPLY POSTING IN THE HOPE THAT AN LA-AREA RESCUE OR ADOPTER WILL SEE THIS AND SAVE HIM BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!
This DOG - ID#A1422587
I am an unaltered male, tan and black Chihuahua - Smooth Coated.
The shelter thinks I am about 2 years and 6 months old.
I weigh approximately 4 pounds.
I have been at the shelter since Sep 07, 2013.
Adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, all animals will be sterilized prior to release.

"STAR" needs donations to see a vet....
9/14/13 GARDEN GROVE, CA: This is Star, a spayed 11 year old pittie girl that desperately needs our help ASAP. She has a growth on her back left leg and it's ge...tting larger quick. Betty her owner and Star fell into hard times several years ago and lost their home and was forced to live in the streets of GG. Betty rescued her many years ago from a POS man that had Star in a back yard with another pitt and wasn't treated well. Betty works two days a week at a church helping with the children and cleans up after the day is done. She is a senior woman whose knees limit her to work more than she does now. Betty is extremely worried about this growth. Having very little money and can't afford to get her baby seen by a vet, Betty can only hope that us animal lovers are able/willing to help by donating towards her medical needs. Betty and Star would be very thankful....please share and let me know if you can help. Thank you very much.

Angels for Animals Network shared a photo.
We have alot of dogs in trouble right now. If you are interested in learning more about the pledging system, please check it out. WE do not accept money, NO money is to be donated PRE rescue, and Angels for Animals is NOT a rescue-- please check out the info- Thank you for your support.
How does pledging work?
Pledging is a promise to pay for a RESCUE to take a particular animal in need. Pledges are meant for rescues, not private adopters. ...You can pledge any amount you like - every bit helps. Some of these animals end up with massive medical/training bills in addition to the initial pulling, vetting, transporting, boarding, and grooming costs. Rescues depend on donations to help animals in their care with medical/behavioral issues so your dollars support their ability to help shelter animals every day.
Why should you pledge?
A rescue may take notice to a particular animal with special needs, if there is rallied support around it. Due to the amount of sick animals coming from the shelter it is difficult to prioritize at times who they can help and who they cannot with massive veterinary bills. You should pledge because your dollar DOES COUNT to that animal!!! While it's not all about the money, it would be irresponsible for a rescue to take on a dog when they cannot afford to provide proper medical care for their condition.
How do you pledge?
To pledge you simply click on the animal's thread and go to their ORIGINAL THREAD in the album (If you pledge on the wall share, it is more difficult to find later). You make a comment with your amount pledged - such as "$5" or if you have personal requirements, you would state them "$5 to a California rescue" or "$5 to 501(c)(3) rescue" or with any stipulations you feel are necessary (for instance for a bonded pair you may wish to stipulate an amount per dog or an amount if rescued together), and take note of the animal's location, ID#, and what you pledged. We are not endorsing pledge stipulations. We are stating if you HAVE stipulations you need to state them when you pledge so the rescue knows what pledges applies to them.
When do you pay your pledges?
When the animal has been rescued, if we have the information regarding the rescue we will update the thread with the rescue info. Otherwise the rescue (if on Facebook) will post a comment on the original thread with instructions and a freedom photo (we do not support pledges being requested or paid without proof of freedom.) This may take a few days based on their schedule and if the animal can actually leave the shelter on rescue day. You can always bookmark the animal's thread to watch its status. Most rescues also send a personal message to the pledgers, however these messages may end up in your Facebook spam box or "other" folder. If you have no idea what your "other folder" is, you should check it, you probably have some surprise messages waiting for you. You can check your "other" (or Facebook spam) folder by clicking here:

**URGENT MEDICAL FUNDS NEEDED!! Please Help!!**
Rosie is fighting for her life and Zani's really needs us. We are just not ready to give up on sweet Rosie and I am begging everyone to please share. She was rescued from Brooklyn ACC's death row and her foster mom fell in love with her instantly. On Friday she suddenly started to vomit and became lethargic.. She was rushed to a local ER where she was diagnosed with severe pancreantitis and gained almost 8 lbs of fluid and is in terrible pain.. her vet bills are already at almost $4000. The ER vet she was at DID NOT offer any rescue discounts. She is now at another animal hospital but the bill is still growing. Rosie is tired but she still has fight in her... we have to help Save Rosie again. Any and all donations are appreciated beyond compare!
