Recognize these two? 148570 and 148571
These are the sad, matted poodles from a couple of weeks ago. They were so matted that they ended up with bad 'dos that will grow out beautiful with good food and regular care. Each had various medical issues from the long term neglect they suffered. The black had a nasty oral tumor filled will hair and food that was removed. Both have received treatment for skin sores, dental cleaning and drumrolll... they are (fingers crossed) trialing in their adoptive home!

Rescues need foster homes to make happy endings like this happen. Without a place for the animals to stay, rescues can't pull. And they need your financial support. Not everyone that pledged on these two paid the rescue. If you promised to donate, please follow thru. Rescues depend on you. Bea.
Looks like these two are adopted!

The sad truth.
Cats in Shelters: Breaking the Vicious Circle
Animal Shelter Cats
Seven out of ten cats that enter California shelters will be euthanized. Is that the role of a shelter? No. In 1998, California enacted the Hayden law, with the intent of ending the euthanasia of adoptable pets. Since then, there have been steps forward and steps back, but overall... no progress on cats. The numbers taken to shelters and euthanized actually rose. Adoptions improved and then stalled. The sad truth is that a stray cat has a better chance of finding a new home -- not to mention staying alive -- if it never sees the inside of an animal shelter.

Most animals in shelters will be euthanized. Most of them were someone's pet, a family member, simply dumped or abandoned, many left at High Kill Shelters.

By the time you read this, many will have been euthanized.

If you're considering a furry family members, please consider shelters and rescues first.
