FY2015 Local Aid Proposals

From DOR/DLS:

The FY2015 local aid estimates based on Governor Deval Patrick?s budget proposal have been posted to the Division of Local Services? website at the link below:

The Governor?s budget proposal recommends funding FY2015 Chapter 70 at $4.4 billion or $99.5 million higher than FY2014 and level funding most other cherry sheet accounts at the FY2014 level.

Local aid estimates for charter school tuition and charter school tuition reimbursements are based on projected enrollments under charters previously issued by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. The Board will be making decisions in January and February on requests for new charters and expansion of existing charters. For those that are approved, the additional tuition and reimbursement amounts will be included in the next local aid estimate release. Estimates for the School Choice assessments may also change significantly when updated to reflect final tuition rates.

It is important for local officials to remember that the local aid estimates are preliminary and are subject to change as the legislative process unfolds.

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) has published the Chapter 70 aid calculations, minimum contributions and net school spending requirements on the Office of School Finance website at:
