Greetings,
agitators!
A
lot going on this week with three important issues. Actions abound for us to
take (and we know you love action!):
-
The American Postal Workers' Union is staging a national day of action on Thursday, May 14th: "I Stand with Postal Workers." How can you participate? Find an event in your area or send a postcard online to Postmaster General Megan Brennan. (Learn more about the postal workers' battle in the March issue of the Hightower Lowdown.)
-
Congressman Alan Grayson has a great video and action website confronting the lies behind the push to “fast track” the rotten Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal. Go to tradetreachery.com to watch and get involved. (Yep, we've got an issue of the Lowdown on the TPP, too.)
-
Last, in case you missed the Lowdown Call-Up on Tuesday: Listen to the energetic and illuminating conversation Hightower had with an organizer and striker from the student debt strike. They took many great questions from the Lowdowners on the call and had lots of great work to share. (Yes! Hightower wrote about for-profit college scams in the Lowdown.)
What’s happening in your world? Let us know what we should be
paying attention to by dropping us an email: editors@hightowerlowdown.org.
Happy Friday,
the Hightower Lowdown gang
