I think serious governance means rewarding people with a history of success and not advancing people who've had failure after failure.
The only thing Rahm Emmanuel has ever been successful at is cozying up with the rich and powerful.
He's been hugely damaging to the Democratic Party and a god awful Mayor of Chicago, who's put rewarding special interests and sports arena owners ahead of keeping schools open and streets safe.
Yet, he's an amazing example of how our country rewards failure and penalizes success when it comes to the Very Serious People and the top .1%.
That Hillary Clinton is standing up for a guy who's overseen one of the most blatant and horrific examples of a systemic cover-up we've seen in a long while says a lot about her.
She'll pay great lip service to seriously tackling guns while standing up for a guy who has helped the Chicago police cover-up systemic cover-ups, abuse and protecting their own instead of the public.
She shouldn't be standing up for Rahm, she should be asking for him to resign.
Lest anything think Rahm's at all interested in cleaning up Chicago in any way, shape or form, the journalist who forced the release of the video that ended the cover-up has now been 'uninvited' from attending Rahm's press conferences.
The journalist ended the cover-up and his reward is to lose access and be professionally punished.
Rahm Emmaneul, who presided over the cover-up and has done NOTHING to challenge the status quo of police abuse and cover-ups in Chicago (and thus we must assume he supports it), gets rewarded by having Hillary Clinton's stamp of approval and the full-throttled defense of the establishment behind him.
