US-trained former Tajik Special Forces colonel is appointed top ISIS battlefield commander in Iraq - reports | 05 Sept 2016 | A US-trained former Special Forces colonel from Tajikistan, who defected last year, has reportedly been appointed a new top ISIS battlefield commander in Iraq.

CLG Exclusive: Trigger Warnings, Safe Spaces, Bias Reporting: The New Micro-techniques of Surveillance and Control By Michael Rectenwald, Ph.D. www.legitgov.org | 12 Sept 2016 | A singular orthodoxy has infiltrated the discursive parameters of U.S. and other universities and colleges. This orthodoxy now constitutes the ethical vocabulary of academia. Adopted from feminism, anti-racism, and LGBTQ theory and practice, the language, doctrines, and mechanisms of this orthodoxy now dominate academia's policies, procedures and handbooks...While innumerable articles have appeared on one or another of these topics (mostly on trigger warnings and safe spaces), no one has explained the structural provenance nor analysed the probable effects of these developments as a whole. Nor has anyone provided a theoretical or historical framework with which to understand them.

Senate investigator breaks silence about CIA's 'failed cover-up' of torture report | 09 Sept 2016 | The man at the center of the US Senate’s landmark investigation of the CIA torture program has gone public for the first time about an experience that led to the CIA spying on him as part of what he calls a "failed cover-up". For six years, Daniel Jones was the chief investigator for the Senate intelligence committee's inquiry into CIA detentions and interrogations carried out in the post-9/11 Bush era. Jones and his team turned 6.3m pages of internal CIA documents into a scathing study which concluded that torture was ineffective and that the CIA had lied about it to two presidents, Congress and the US public...The CIA accessed Jones's work and even reconstructed his emails, sparking an unprecedented clash between the agency and its legislative overseers on Capitol Hill.

Bill allowing 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia heads to Obama's desk | 09 Sept 2016 | The House approved legislation Friday by voice vote that would allow families of 9/11 victims to sue the government of Saudi Arabia, CBS News has confirmed. In May, the Senate passed the measure, which was sponsored by Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Chuck Schumer, D-New York. The White House [a subsidiary of the Sharia sociopaths of Saudi Arabia] has expressed opposition to the bill.

9/11 victims could be allowed to sue Saudi Arabia over alleged ties to attack | 09 Sept 2016 | The United States house of representatives voted Friday to pass a bill that would allow the families of victims of the 11 September terror attacks to sue Saudi Arabia's government for damages. The legislation was passed by a voice vote in the chamber four months after it was approved by the senate and is symptomatic of a growing desire in Washing to re-examine it's alliance with the oil-rich kingdom which has, for decades,  been treated as America's untouchable ally. Ted Poe, a Republican congressmen from Texas who voted on the bill said the American government needs to be more concerned about the families of the Twin Towers victims than "diplomatic niceties".

Fight Al-Nusra, no strikes on 'rebels,' Aleppo relief: Kerry and Lavrov agree new Syria ceasefire plan | 10 Sept 2016 | Russia and the US have agreed on a new ceasefire plan on Syria that includes a ban on government airstrikes in certain areas and cooperation on strikes against jihadists, Russian FM Sergey Lavrov announced after the marathon talks with US Secretary of State John Kerry. According to Kerry, the plan is to ensure that Syrian government forces will not carry out combat missions where the so-called moderate opposition is present. Kerry also outlined an establishment of the Russian-US Joint Implementation Centre (JIG) that would serve the purpose of "delineation of territories controlled by Al-Nusra and opposition groups in the area of active hostilities."

When only pizza and vodka will do: Lavrov treats tired journos to US-Russian snack after Syria talks | 10 Sept 2016 | When John Kerry and Sergey Lavrov managed to finally wrap up the talks on Syria, they celebrated by bringing journalists a combo of American comfort food (pizza) and Russian bonhomie (vodka), symbolizing qualities that may well have helped reach the deal. Some 13 hours after the start of the marathon Russian-US negotiations, Lavrov emerged to offer the reporters five boxes of pizza pie and two bottles of vodka. "The pizza is from the Americans, the vodka is from us," the Foreign Minister exclaimed, to the amusement of the journalists.

"The threat [of attacks on France] is at its highest we have seen it in recent days; it is there even as we speak now," Manuel Valls said in an interview with Europe 1 radio and Itele television on Sunday...The French capital was put on "maximum" alert this week after French officials said they had broken up an Islamic State-affiliated (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL [but still I-CIA-SIS]) "terrorist cell" that was planning to hit at a Paris railway.

Boy, 15, arrested for planning 'imminent violent action' in Paris | 11 Sept 2016 | A boy aged just 15 has been arrested in Paris suspected of preparing an imminent "violent action" on the nation. Two judicial sources have said the teenager is being held in custody after spending months on house arrest. The alleged plot has become the second to be foiled in a week. 'IS-inspired' Australian charged with terrorism after stabbing | 11 Sept 2016 | A Sydney man was charged on Sunday with committing a terrorist attack and attempted murder that police said seemed to have been inspired by Islamic State, after he repeatedly stabbed a stranger on the street. The 22-year-old stabbed the 59-year-old man who was walking through a park on Saturday, and attacked police who arrived, making statements that they said led them to conclude he was motivated by IS. "We know this person has strong extremist beliefs inspired by ISIS," New South Wales Police Deputy Commissioner Catherine Burn said at a news conference, using an acronym for the militant group originally known as Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Former DNC chairman calls for Clinton contingency plan | 12 Sept 2016 | A former Democratic National Committee chairman says President Barack Obama and the party's congressional leaders should immediately come up with a process to identify a potential successor candidate for Hillary Clinton for the off-chance a health emergency forces her out of the race. "I think the plan should be developed by 6 o’clock this afternoon," said Don Fowler, who helmed the DNC from 1995 to 1997, during Bill Clinton’s presidency, and has backed Hillary Clinton since her 2008 presidential bid. Fowler said he expects Clinton to fully recover from her bout with pneumonia, which forced her to leave a Sept. 11 memorial event early and cancel an early-week fundraising swing. But he said the Democratic Party would be mistaken to proceed without a contingency plan.

Secret Service followed atypical protocol with Clinton's early departure from Sunday 9/11 event | 11 Sept 2016 | The U.S. Secret Service followed atypical protocol with Hillary Clinton's early departure from Sunday's commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks at Ground Zero. In a widely circulated video of the Democratic presidential nominee's departure from the ceremony, Clinton can be seen leaning against a security bollard and then buckling and stumbling as her security detail helps her into a black van. According to two former Secret Service agents who reviewed the video, the detail clearly had to rush and did not expect Clinton to leave at that time...The incident also raised questions about Clinton's traveling group of reporters, which she left behind at Ground Zero when she departed unexpectedly, leaving the press with no knowledge of her whereabouts or condition for about 90 minutes.

Hillary Clinton cancels California trip because of pneumonia diagnosis | 12 Sept 2016 | Hillary Clinton was on Sunday night facing serious questions about her health as she cancelled a campaign trip to California after admitting to suffer from pneumonia. In what could be a major turning point in the bitterly contested presidential campaign, Mrs Clinton appeared to faint as she departed early from a ceremony honouring victims of the September 11 attacks at Ground Zero in New York City. At first her campaign team claimed that Mrs Clinton had "overheated". But her doctor was later forced to admit that she had been diagnosed on Friday with a much more serious illness.

Hillary Clinton Diagnosed With Pneumonia on Friday, Revealed After Falling Ill at 9/11 Memorial Service | 11 Sept 2016 | Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton fell ill during a memorial service marking the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and left abruptly, inserting new speculation about her health into a presidential campaign in which Republican Donald Trump has called her weak and unfit. Video of Clinton's hurried departure from the Ground Zero memorial showed her buckling and stumbling as she got into her van. Clinton's campaign issued a statement from her doctor later Sunday revealing that she had been diagnosed with pneumonia two days earlier. The video, circulated on Twitter, appeared to show Clinton, 68, flanked by several Secret Service agents who are regulars on her detail, leaning against a security bollard while agents prepare to help her into a black van. As she steps forward, Clinton can be seen falling as agents help lift her into the van.

Hillary Clinton leaves 9/11 ceremony after medical episode | 11 Sept 2016 | Hillary Clinton nearly collapsed Sunday morning as she abruptly left Ground Zero during the annual Sept. 11 memorial ceremony. The 68-year-old Democratic presidential nominee appeared unable to stand on her own as she was helped into a black van along West Street in Lower Manhattan. Aides held both of her arms to keep her from hitting the pavement, video shows.

Hillary Clinton collapses as she is helped into her van after being rushed from 9/11 memorial - video --The latest incident will raise further questions about her health that have been pushed by opponents | 11 Sept 2016 | Video has surfaced of Hillary Clinton appearing to collapse as she was led into a van after suffering a 'medical episode' during the 9/11 memorial service. The Democratic presidential candidate is seen standing on a curb near the World Trade Center when she suddenly appeared unable to stand. She seems to nearly fall to the ground before she is caught by her aides, who hold her up. Her security detail then had to help her into the van by grabbing each of her arms. The former Secretary of State then appears to fall forward toward the door of the van before being bundled inside.

Clinton: Half of Trump supporters are in 'basket of deplorables' | 10 Sept 2016 | Hillary Clinton told an audience of donors Friday night that half of Donald Trump's supporters fall into "the basket of deplorables," meaning people who are racist, sexist, homophobic or xenophobic. In an effort to explain the support behind Trump, Clinton went on to describe the rest of Trump supporters as people who are looking for change in any form because of economic anxiety and urged her supporters to empathize with them. "To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables," Clinton said. "Right? Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it."

Jill Stein in Iowa: I would not have assassinated Osama bin Laden | 11 Sept 2016 | Dr. Jill Stein, the Green Party's candidate for president, said Sunday in Iowa that she would not have assassinated Osama bin Laden but would have brought him to justice for his role in the attacks on the United States on Sept. 11, 2001. "I think assassinations...they're against international law to start with and to that effect, I think I would not have assassinated Osama bin Laden but would have captured him and brought him to trial," Stein said. Stein made her comments in an interview before her first Iowa campaign appearance, a rally that attracted more than 150 on the grounds of the Iowa State Capitol.

U.S. Warns Russia Not to Interfere in 2016 Presidential Election [and leave the corporations who own and operate the electronic 'voting' machines to handle that] | 07 Sept 2016 | U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter on Wednesday warned Russia against interfering with Western "democratic processes" and accused Moscow of aggressive behaviour aimed at eroding the international order. Carter's remarks follow hacking attacks on Democratic Party organisations in the run-up to the U.S. election on Nov. 8, some of which U.S. officials and cyber security experts have blamed on hackers working for the Russian government. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has [insanely] blamed Russia and expressed concern about possible Russian interference in the election.

Federal government halts work on part of pipeline project | 09 Sept 2016 | The federal government stepped into the fight over the Dakota Access oil pipeline Friday, ordering work to stop on one segment of the project in North Dakota and asking the Texas-based company building it to "voluntarily pause" action on a wider span that an American Indian tribe says holds sacred artifacts. The government's order came minutes after a judge rejected a request by the Standing Rock Sioux to halt construction of the 3.8 billion, four-state pipeline...Tribal leaders allege that the project violates several federal laws and will harm water supplies.
