Man Fires AR-15 At Dogwalker After ‘Confusing Her’ For Killer Clown
by Curtis Purdy
Only in America… A Kentucky man recently used his AR-15 rifle to scare the living daylights out of a woman who was trying to walk her dog, according to reports from the local Bardstown Police Department.
Adam Tingle’s wife was outside their home when she came inside and said she saw a clown moving through their neighborhood. Clowns must be a real scary thing for Tingle, because his first response was not to look first and confirm what she said, but to lock and load his assault rifle. Sounds reasonable. Right?
Tingle went outside with his gun and overlooked the obvious facts that she had a dog and was not dressed as a clown. He shouted at the woman who didn’t immediately flee the scene, so Tingle fired a warning shot from his AR-15. Tingle’s wife then called 911 to let authorities know that they were under attack by circus folk.
Police report that Tingle claimed he feared for his family because of the recent news coverage of people in clown suits engaging in criminal activity.
In this case, Tingle’s actions defy reason. This was a woman who was wearing a white afghan blanket while walking her dog down the street. There was no red nose, no floppy shoes, and no face paint. She wasn’t even riding a teeny-weeny bike or holding a rubber chicken.
Police felt the same way, and charged Tingle with one count of second-degree wanton endangerment. His court date is October 18th. Authorities have also confiscated his rifle in the event more civilians or domestic pets frighten his wife by walking down the street.
