Dear Friend,
Will we make it? The question has become so urgent at a critical moment in history. A new research report published in Nature Communications says that by mid 21st century, if mitigation efforts are not initiated the world could be 10 C warmer. A temperature level seen 50 million years ago! In that scenario all humans and most of the species on earth will be gone. The report comes at a time when climate denialists are ruling the world. Dr Gideon Polya's article takes a deep look at the top three carbon polluters of the world.
If you don't mind, and if you think the content of this news letter is critical for the dignified living and survival of humanity and other species on earth, please forward it to your friends and spread the word. Carbon Levels Could Hit Pre-Human State By Mid-Century
by Nadia Prupis
Current carbon dioxide levels are unprecedented in human history and could reach a level unseen in millennia if their rates continue at this pace, a new report out Tuesday warns. Research published in Nature Communications finds that if fossil fuel use continues unabated, the atmosphere could revert “to values of CO2 not seen since the early Eocene (50 million years ago),” a time when humans did not exist, by the middle of the 21st century.

Love, Western Nihilism And Revolutionary Optimism
by Andre Vltchek
To a stranger who comes from afar, it appears to be a sad, unnatural, brutally restrained and to a great extent, a pitiful world. Tens of millions of adult men and women, some well educated, ‘do not know what to do with their lives’. They take courses or go ‘back to school’ in order to fill the void, and to ‘discover what they want to do’ with their lives. It is all self-serving, as there appear to be no greater aspirations. Most of the efforts begin and end with each particular individual
The Balfour Declaration 1917 — 2017: 100 Years Of Deceit, Devastation And Genocide
by William A Cook
Thus do we return to Arthur Koestler‘s admonition to the Jews in the Diaspora, the dilemma they must face that will become more acute with time: choose between the Zionist controlled, amoral state that acts in your name casting lies like seeds before the multitudes and justifying brutal acts of vengeance and racism as necessary for the security of a state that stands alone in the mid-east as a bastion of technological and nuclear power or choose the truth of the Torah, as those Jews from across the world who remain compassionate, giving and loving people who seek peace in Palestine for both Jews and Palestinians
Putin Through The U.S. Lense….
by Jim Miles
Vladimir Putin is the devil incarnate of the present media frenzy supporting all things USA! USA! USA!. Having just read a trio of books concerning Putin it is obvious that the lense through which Putin is viewed has blinders on the side and rose coloured tints as a lense coating. The blinders are those things the authors just do not want to see; the rosy tints are a combination of all things from the U.S. coming up roses, and all things Russian still being post-Soviet red.

An Interview With Anand Patwardhan
by Vidya Bhushan Rawat
For over 40 years Anand Patwardhan’s documentary films have stood for freedom of expression. He faced censorship on numerous occasions, took the government to court, and won each time. Anand is not just a filmmaker but an activist in the cause of Indian democracy, clearly under threat today. In this candid conversation with Vidya Bhushan Rawat, Anand discusses his views on the challenges before us, and most importantly, how he perceives both Gandhi and Ambedkar as liberation theologists whose ideas are in danger of being revised by their enemies.

Mahishasur: A people’s Hero
by Ish N Mishra
The alternative readings of myths from Brahmanical mythological reservoir mark the beginning of a new cultural consciousness among the Dalits, Adivasis and other deprived sections of the Indian society. The deprived peoples have realized that the Brahmanism has been able to maintain its ideological hegemony through monopoly over knowledge based mainly on epical & mythological constructs of the history. The cultural domination is reciprocitively related to politico-economic domination. Hence to deconstruct the myths is an important facilitative factor in the struggle of cultural emancipation. The alternative reading of the Durga-Mahishasur myth, Mahishasur: A People’s’ Hero is a part of the process, says Ish Mishra.
Caste System Remains The Biggest Threat To Democracy
by Vidya Bhushan Rawat
Today’s India needs all young forces to join hand to eliminate caste and therefore, Manuwad, as Baba Saheb Ambedkar had wished. It is only possible if all the thinking people join hands, express their solidarity whereever possible, organise yourself on a common minimum programme. One by one institutions are being targeted, our freedom is under assault.
A Partnership For Banishing Poverty
by Moin Qazi
Tackling poverty requires an approach that must start with the people themselves and encourages the initiative, creativity and drive from below. The strategy must be at the core of any transformatory exercise if the results are to be lasting and enduring.
Women Activists Demand Disbandment Of Anti-Romeo Squads
“Anti-Romeo Squads” are policemen and women and vigilante groups, operating outside the purview of law, with the support of the Uttar Pradesh State, which threaten women’s freedoms. The serious issue of violence against women and routine sexual harassment of women in Uttar Pradesh cannot be addressed by setting up anti-Romeo squads. These “squads” impose their own aggressive and arbitrary code through moral policing. It has already come to light that in many cases, these “anti-romeo squads” have become an even greater source of harassment and fear for women and men, which has even been acknowledged by the DG Police UP in his order of 22nd March and 25th March, 2017.

And all the bars were closed.
They told him ` get married and you will be fine’
Then he just asked them this:
