If you were watching, The Massachusetts Democratic Party supported and promoted a losing candidate for governor - a candidate who had already lost an election against a lack luster Dirty Energy Koch Sock Puppet.
[That carpet bagging Dirty Energy Koch Sock Puppet went on to loose against two female candidates. Maybe it's time The Massachusetts Democratic Party woke up.]
This is the Governor Massachusetts could have had.
Hello to my friends from the Gubernatorial race,
You gave me the extraordinary opportunity to meet and work with thousands of wonderful people, and I am deeply grateful for your friendship and support. Because of you we were able to generate a strong response for progressive values, and we were able to make a forceful case for Single Payer health care reform. I want to continue to help advance that agenda, and, in that spirit, I hope that you will join with me in supporting Mass-Care, the organization that is spearheading the campaign for Single Payer here in Massachusetts. For more information about Mass-Care please click on the following link, and please consider both signing up to receive email updates on Single Payer events and donating or volunteering to move Single Payer forward. Thank you for energizing the progressive movement and for your generosity. www.masscare.org
Here are two specific events that I support. I hope you will consider attending them:
- On Sunday, October 26th, there will be a Global Day of Action to make Health Care a Right for everyone. The event will be on the Boston Common at the Bandstand (Gazebo) starting at 11:00. The rally will focus on the right to health, both globally and locally, as we fight for support for a Single Payer health care system in Massachusetts, and for rights-based universal health coverage around the world. This is especially urgent with both the upcoming gubernatorial campaign in November and the revision of the Millennium Development Goals in 2015. The Global Day of Action is a joint effort of many organizations including Mass-Care, Partners in Health, Engage, Health Leads, GlobeMed, and students of local universities including Harvard Medical School, Boston University, Northeastern University, Tufts University, Harvard University, Boston College, and MIT. There will be speakers, music, tables for information, and Mass-Care is sponsoring a FUN WALK around the Common starting at 1:00, 1.2 miles of FUN with signs and songs! To support the FUN WALK for Single Payer and be eligible for prizes please go to Mass-Care’s website www.masscare.org and register ($10 for students, $25 for adults). After the rally please join us at Beantown Pub for more fun and networking. Please also see https://www.facebook.com/events/872287412796587/ for more information.
- On Wednesday, November 19th , I am proud to be speaking at a Mass-Care event focused on what can be done legislatively to achieve Single Payer in Massachusetts as we start the new legislative session in Jan 2015. The lead sponsors of the two current Single Payer bills will also speak, and there will be a question and answer period for brain-storming and defining our legislative and outreach goals. The event will be at the Mass-Care office, 9 Hamilton Place (near the Park St. station) from 5:30 to 7:30. A voluntary contribution to Mass-Care for this event ($100 suggested) would be very much appreciated. https://www.facebook.com/events/1486206001654862/?context=create&previousaction=create&source=49&sid_create=1296897078
If you have any questions about either event, please feel free to reply to this email or reach out directly to Mass-Care Executive Director, Ture Tumbell at director@masscare.org.
Let’s keep the momentum going. Thank you for all that you do!
