VoteVets

Like General Wesley Clark says, "there isn't a more decisive political organization than VoteVets once they get involved" in a race or a campaign.

And ever since Donald Trump took office, you've helped us take that work to a new level.

Our September fundraising drive is off to a fine start, but we still have a ways to go if we're going to hit our goals.

Here's how we've put those donations to work this year:

You probably recall our ad we ran on Morning Joe featuring an Afghanistan veteran talking directly to Donald Trump. It got Trump's attention, and helped shape the debate in the early days of the administration.

We filed an Amicus Brief against Trump's Muslim Ban with the District Court of Eastern New York before the executive action was overturned.

We ran ads calling for an independent investigation into the relationship between Trump and the Russian government. And now we have one:

When Trump expressed his admiration for General Patton, we ran ads on Fox and Friends from a World War II veteran who actually served in Patton's army.

We identified veterans who would lose tremendously if the budget for Meals on Wheels and LIHEAP were cut, changing the terms of the debate immediately.

We released a poll showing the vast majority of Americans want to exhaust all diplomatic options with North Korea, and almost 90 percent want direct talks.

That polls was first and fast, and shaped the conversation going forward.

And last, but not least, when President Trump sided with Nazis in Charlottesville, we ran an ad featuring a Jewish-American War veteran who flew 35 missions as a bomber pilot over Germany in World War II.

We are never going to stop taking the fight to Donald Trump, but we cannot do it alone.

Thank you for your continued support of VoteVets. We couldn't do it without you.
