Scared Trump will start a war with a tweet?

VoteVets

Admit it, we've all been at least slightly afraid that Donald Trump would start a war because he couldn't control the urge to reach for his phone and tweet after watching a Fox and Friends segment about North Korea.

Well, yesterday North Korea's foreign minister said Trump's tweets amounted to a "declaration of war" against their regime.

In theory, Congress is supposed to serve as a check on presidential powers, especially when it comes to matters of war and peace. And with a impulse control-challenged madman as our Commander in Chief, it's never been more important that we elect progressive members of Congress who know the cost of war.

VoteVets has endorsed a number of them running for office. All winnable races. All will serve as a powerful check on Trump if elected. And each one of them has a critical FEC fundraising deadline this week.

Even in these chaotic times, it's the voices of veterans that are able to cut through the clutter -- it's the voices of veterans the American people trust to keep us safe from Trump. If everyone chips in, these candidates can win. And if they do, we will have done a bit more to keep our country safer during these dangerous times.

VoteVets.org: How we can check Trump's power

VoteVets

In theory, Congress is supposed to serve as a check on presidential powers, especially when it comes to matters of war and peace. That's why with Trump threatening the safety and stability of the world, it's never been more important to elect progressive veterans to the House of Representatives.

Think about some of the most powerful voices holding President Trump accountable -- people like Congressmen Ted Lieu and Seth Moulton along with Senator Tammy Duckworth.

What do they have in common? All progressive veterans. And here's something else you may not know -- all were endorsed early by VoteVets early, and we supported each with big ad spends or grassroots fundraising.

We've endorsed four progressive veterans running for office in 2018. All winnable races. All will serve as a powerful check on Trump's power if elected. And as a bonus, one of them is our best chance to unseat Darrell Issa. Support them today.

It's probably never been more important to have the voices of progressive veterans in Congress, especially with a president threatening to send more troops overseas and to privatize their care when they return home. These four veterans will help serve as the check we need on the president. Let's help them win.
