Make absolutely no mistake about it, the Republicans in the House and Senate who voted for this disastrous tax cut bill last night put the interest of their wealthy and powerful donors ahead of the constituents they were elected to serve.
Because at the end of the day, that is the language they are fluent in and the master they serve: Donations. Money. Winning re-election. Building power.
Well, there is going to be another vote on this bill -- either in the House, or in both chambers after a Conference Committee. And before that happens, we need to send a lot of these vulnerable Republicans a message, and we need to do it in the language they understand.
Republicans in the House thought it was ok to fund tax cuts for the rich by cutting job programs for veterans. And that's just the start. Because next up on the chopping block is going to be massive cuts to veterans' health care.
And that's why we have to stop them right now.
