Manhattan explosion: Con Ed testing for radioactivity at 23rd Street scene; secondary device safely removed | 18 Sept 2016 | (Chelsea, Manhattan) Twenty-nine people were injured in an "intentional" explosion in the heart of Chelsea Saturday night, jolting a bustling neighborhood teeming with restaurants, bars and pedestrians and alarming the city on what had been a calm weekend evening...A possible secondary device -- which a source described to PIX11 News as a "possible pressure cooker" -- was safely removed early Sunday by the NYPD Bomb Squad according to police sources. This device was found at West 27th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues, according NYPD Special Operations. Members of the FDNY investigating the device at 27th Street initially told PIX11 "it has a cell phone attached, that's why they're going up there." The FDNY is assessing potential structure damage resulting from the explosion and Con Ed was testing for radioactivity at the 23rd Street scene.
New York explosion leaves dozens injured --29 people have been injured, the police commissioner says | 18 Sept 2016 | An explosion ripped through the Chelsea neighborhood in New York City Saturday night injuring dozens and a second device with wiring was found blocks away, authorities say. Police officers and federal agents were scouring the streets with flashlights, robots and dogs to ensure there were no other devices in the area. Investigators believe the blast was caused by an explosive device in or near a dumpster, a law enforcement source told CNN...Ambulances arriving at some local hospitals were being checked by armed guards. 24 people were taken to the hospital after the explosion, but "none of those injured are likely to die," the mayor says.

Terrifying CCTV footage shows the blast ripping through New York's affluent Chelsea neighborhood at around 8.30pm on Saturday night. The Office of the Deputy Commissioner Public Information (DCPI) exclusively told DailyMail.com the video was 'confirmed amateur video footage from incident location'. The blast on 23rd Street and Sixth Avenue is believed to have come from a dumpster and was the result of 'an intentional act', according to the NYPD. Although Mayor Bill de Blasio has claimed there's no connection to terrorism, the incident follows the pipe bombing of a military fun-run in New Jersey hours earlier.
Explosion in New York City believed to be 'intentional,' mayor says; 29 injured | 17 Sept 2016 | An explosion that injured at least 29 people in New York City late Saturday appeared to be "intentional," Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) announced, as officers uncovered what they called a possible secondary explosive device four blocks away. The blast appeared to originate from a construction toolbox in front of a building, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press. The FBI and New York Police Department have not ruled out terrorism as a possible factor but say it's too early to determine the exact cause, law enforcement sources told Fox News.
Subway service halted on certain lines after Chelsea explosion | 17 Sept 2016 | An explosion in Chelsea has snarled some subway lines Saturday night as police investigate the scene on 23rd Street. A possible secondary device has been found at West 27th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenue, according to NYPD Special Operations. The area should be avoided, the NYPD said.
Pipe bombing at New Jersey race probed as possible terrorism | 17 Sept 2016 | A pipe bomb exploded in a New Jersey beach town on Saturday along the route of a charity race to benefit military veterans, but no injuries were reported in what investigators were treating as a possible act of terrorism. The explosive device went off in a trash can about 30 minutes after the scheduled start of the race, which coincidentally was delayed, in Seaside Park, a resort about 80 miles (129 km) south of New York City, officials said...Initial reports of a second bomb planted in another trash proved untrue, according to a statement issued by New Jersey state police several hours later.
Pipe Bomb Explodes Along 5K Seaside Park Racecourse on the Jersey Shore | 17 Sept 2016 | (NJ) The boardwalk area in Seaside Park was evacuated - and a lockdown was in place - on Saturday because of an explosion as authorities searched well into the afternoon for any possible suspects. No one was injured in the blast and no additional devices were found after a search at a charity 5K race that was expected to draw 3,000 people, many of them veterans of the armed services, authorities said. Al Della Fave, a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, said he believes the incident was deliberate that may have targeted veteran Marines participating in the event...Della Fave said there were multiple bombs wired together - perhaps two or three - but only one exploded. On the scene were the New Jersey State Police, FBI, U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Ocean County Sheriff's Department, and Seaside Park Police Department.
Bomb explodes near Marine Corps race in New Jersey | 17 Sept 2016 | An explosion that went off in a garbage can Saturday morning in a New Jersey beach town likely was timed to disrupt a Marine Corps charity run, authorities said. Three pipe-bomb-type devices wired together were found near the boardwalk in Seaside Park. No injuries were reported and a four-block area was evacuated for most of the day, authorities said. An initial examination showed the devices were rudimentary, with some type of timer, and only one of them detonated, two federal law enforcement officials told CNN.
Charlottesville FD Investigating Underground Transformer Explosion | 18 Sept 2016 | (Charlottesville, VA) The Charlottesville Fire Department was investigating a reported underground explosion of a transformer owned by Dominion on the Downtown Mall. The fire chief says there was no fire or smoke, and no injuries from the reported explosion near the Downtown Mall between 3rd street and Water street.

Mall Attacker Referenced 'Allah,' Asked if People Were Muslims Before Stabbing Them, Police Chief Says | 17 Sept 2016 | St. Cloud police says an armed suspect walked into Crossroads Shopping Center Saturday night -- and according to witness accounts to police -- the suspect made references to Allah, and asked people in the mall if they were Muslim before stabbing them. Police say The Crossroads Shopping Center is an active crime scene - and may continue to be so for some time as police process the crime scene where at least eight people were stabbed. St. Cloud Police Chief Blair Anderson says the suspect was wearing a private security uniform and reportedly made references to Allah and asked people in the mall if they were Muslim before stabbing them. Anderson says the man was shot dead by an off-duty officer, an officer from a different jurisdiction outside of the St. Cloud area. Chris Nelson with CentraCare Health says eight people were taken to the hospital, seven were treated and released and one has been admitted.
Oktoberfest security tightened over terrorism fears | 17 Sept 2016 | Police in Germany have tightened security for this year's Oktoberfest over terrorism fears. The world's biggest beer festival will be fenced off for the first time to ensure visitors go through security checks, authorities say. About six million visitors are expected to visit Munich for the 17-day event, which runs until 3 October.
ISIS-inspired Briton guilty of murdering imam | 16 Sept 2016 | A British Muslim was found guilty on Friday of being inspired by the militant Islamic State [ISIS, aka I-CIA-SIS] group to help murder a respected local imam who he believed was practicing "black magic". Mohammed Syeedy, 21, and accomplice Mohammed Abdul Kadir followed their victim Jalal Uddin as he walked home from evening prayers at his mosque in Rochdale, northern England, in February and bludgeoned him to death in a park. Police said Syeedy was believed to have acted as the getaway driver while Kadir, who is now thought to be in Syria, attacked the victim with a hammer.
More than 110 people in the US have been charged in connection to ISIS since 2013 --Many of these people were charged under 'material support' statutes| 13 Sept 2016 | More than 110 people have been publicly charged in federal court on counts related to ISIS [I-CIA-SIS] since late 2013. The Justice Department needs Americans to be more proactive about alerting federal authorities when they witness someone showing support for foreign terrorist organizations, U.S. Assistant Attorney General John Carlin said on Monday. Carlin said that in more than 80 per cent of the Islamic State cases that have been prosecuted since 2013, someone in the community of the accused believed they had witnessed the activity for which they were ultimately charged.
Yielding to Saudi Arabia, Obama Will Likely Veto 9/11 Lawsuit Bill --Legislation passed unanimously in House on Friday | 12 Sept 2016 | President Obama is expected to veto a bill that would allow the families of 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia, White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters Monday. The bill passed unanimously in the House on Friday and passed unanimously in the Senate in May. Saudi Arabia [Sharia sociopaths], a close U.S. ally in the Middle East, has voiced strong opposition to the bill. Fifteen of the 19 hijackers from 9/11 were Saudi nationals.
Two police officers, four civilians shot in ambush-style attack in Philadelphia | 17 Sept 2016 | Two police officers and four civilians were shot Friday night in Philadelphia in what reports describe as an ambush-style attack. One Philadelphia Police Department office and one University of Pennsylvania police officer were shot Friday night by "an individual driven by hatred," according to Philadelphia Police Department public information office John Stanford. At least one civilian victim died, according to local news reports, and the suspect was also killed in a shootout with police.
Obama enlists Republican Kasich to push for TPP corporate takeover of US | 16 Sept 2016 | Ohio's Republican governor, John Kasich, took over the White House briefing lectern on Friday to praise the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership, an unusual move that shows how hard President Barack Obama will push for the trade deal's corporate takeover approval. Obama, aDemocrat who is leaving office in four months, met with the governor, who fell short in his bid to be the Republican presidential candidate, in the White House Oval Office to discuss strategies for overcoming domestic political angst over hatred of the TPP. The unlikely partnership comes as the White House makes a final full-court push to persuade Republican congressional leaders to approve the deal in a "lame duck" session after the Nov. 8 election.
Gag me with a chainsaw: Trump and Putin poisoned Hillary Clinton, warns top doctor | 13 Sept 2016 | One of the most well-known scientists in the US has warned that Hillary Clinton may have been poisoned by Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. Bennet Omalu, the famous pathologist who discovered chronic traumatic encephalopathy in the brains of deceased American football players, made the disturbing suggestion on Twitter. 'I must advise the Clinton campaign to perform toxicologic analysis of Ms Clinton's blood,' he wrote. 'It is possible she is being poisoned.' Then, in a second tweet, he added: 'I do not trust Mr Putin and Mr Trump. With those two all things are possible.'
Former DNC chairman calls for Clinton contingency plan | 12 Sept 2016 | A former Democratic National Committee chairman says President Barack Obama and the party's congressional leaders should immediately come up with a process to identify a potential successor candidate for Hillary Clinton for the off-chance a health emergency forces her out of the race. "I think the plan should be developed by 6 o’clock this afternoon," said Don Fowler, who helmed the DNC from 1995 to 1997, during Bill Clinton’s presidency, and has backed Hillary Clinton since her 2008 presidential bid. Fowler said he expects Clinton to fully recover from her bout with pneumonia, which forced her to leave a Sept. 11 memorial event early and cancel an early-week fundraising swing. But he said the Democratic Party would be mistaken to proceed without a contingency plan.
Clinton IT specialist ignores subpoena for House hearing; other witnesses plead 5th | 13 Sept 2016 | The former State Department IT specialist who set up Hillary Clinton's private server ignored a subpoena to appear Tuesday before a House committee hearing, while other tech experts who helped maintain the system asserted their Fifth Amendment right not to testify - frustrating Republican lawmakers trying to dig deeper into the former secretary of state's email setup. House oversight committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, said he'll now consider a "full range of options" to address IT aide Bryan Pagliano's "failure" to attend. Pagliano is considered a vital witness in the Clinton email case.

He took the stage, introduced by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, as the 'Les Mis' anthem 'Do You Hear the People Sing' blasted through loudspeakers. The video screen behind the podium flashed to an artistic rendering of 'Les Deplorables,' complete with USA and 'Trump' flags replacing the French colors, and a bald eagle soaring over the revolutionary scene.
