Stoughton sees slight increase in math MCAS scores
WEST BRIDGEWATER —
There were no major changes, for better or worse, in 2012 local high school MCAS scores released Wednesday.
But, compared to 2011 results, some high schools saw moderate declines in some Grade 10 scores, such as Middleboro and Avon’s drop in science, while others went up, such as Avon’s math and Holbrook’s English scores.

Students need passing scores in the Grade 10 English, math and science MCAS tests to receive their high school diplomas.
Middleboro High School took a step back in all three categories, the most noticeable in science and technology, in which 12 percent fewer students scored in the proficient or advanced categories, compared to 2011.
