Tihange nuclear power plant evacuated after dozens killed in Brussels terror attacks --Workers at the power plant have been evacuated after dozens were killed during attacks in Brussels this morning | 22 March 2016 | A major nuclear power plant in Belgium has been partially evacuated following this morning's terror attacks. Workers at the Tihange nuclear power plant are now leaving the building. University Libre de Bruxelles has also been evacuated as a precaution. In a tweet, the ULB said "in the light of the latest information we have received, we are obliged to evacuate the campuses."

Wounded missionary Mason Wells was in Boston bombings, Paris attacks, and Brussels terror explosions --Mormon Missionaries From Utah Among Belgian Bombing Survivors | 22 March 2016 | They had just dropped off a fellow missionary at the Brussels Airport on Tuesday when an explosion ripped through the building. In a sickening flash, three Mormon missionaries [aka CIA] were badly hurt in the latest terror attack to hit Europe -- a deadly attack that killed at least 31 and injured more than 200. The three missionaries -- all from Utah -- were identified by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as Elder Richard Norby, 66, of Lehi; Elder Joseph Empey, 20, of Santa Clara; and Elder Mason Wells, 19, of Sandy..."He had only been in Brussels for six weeks," Wells's weeping mother, Kymberley Wells, told NBC News...This was not Wells's first brush with terror. He was in Boston to watch his mother run the marathon in 2013 when two Chechen immigrant brothers set off shrapnel-filled bombs that killed three and wounded scores more, his family said. Wells was also in Paris this past November when the French capital was attacked by Belgium-based terrorists, the family said.
U.S. Said to Tighten Security for Air, Rail, Port Facilities | 22 March 2016 | The U.S. government is stepping up security measures in response to Tuesday's bombings in Brussels as President Barack Obama pledged to do "whatever is necessary" to help bring the perpetrators to justice. Security will be tightened at airports, rail stations and ports in the U.S. in response to the deadly attacks in Belgium, according to a government official briefed on the plan. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is expected to make an announcement later Tuesday, said the official, who wasn't authorized to disclose the plans and asked not to be identified. The stepped-up security includes assigning additional law enforcement personnel to the facilities, the official said.

Prime Minister Charles Michel, condemning the deadliest terror attack on Belgian soil ever as "a violent and cowardly" assault, deployed Belgium's military to secure the capital after two explosions at the airport and a bombing at a subway station a short walk from the European Union’s headquarters.
Brussels in lockdown after three explosions hit airport, metro | 22 March 2016 | Bombs struck the Brussels airport and a metro station in the heart of the city during the morning rush hour Tuesday, killing at least 31 people and wounding dozens, as the city was locked down amid heightened security threats. The two airport blasts, at least one of which was blamed on a suicide bomber, left behind a chaotic scene of splattered blood in the departure lounge as windows were blown out, ceilings collapsed and travellers streamed out of the smoky building.
Police make raids as suspect sought in Brussels attacks | 22 March 2016 | Multiple explosions rocked Brussels Tuesday at the airport and in the city's subway system - prompting a lockdown of the Belgian capital and heightened security across Europe...The blasts have killed at least 34 people and put the Belgian city on its highest terror alert level. Mayor Yvan Majeur said at least 20 people have died and 106 people were injured in the attack on the Maelbeek subway station, which is close to the European Union headquarters. Other officials said 14 people were killed and 81 were wounded in twin explosions at the Brussels airport. That puts the total number of injured at 187.
'Shut our borders': Donald Trump calls for the surveillance of Muslims on US soil and advocates waterboarding terror suspects after Brussels attack | 22 March 2016 | Donald Trump commented on the suicide bombings that occurred in Brussels Tuesday morning just hours after the brutal terror attacks. 'Do you all remember how beautiful and safe a place Brussels was. Not anymore, it is from a different world! U.S. must be vigilant and smart!' wrote the Republican front-runner on Twitter. Trump then said in an interview on Fox News the US needs to 'shut the borders,' a statement he repeated later in the morning while appearing on Today. In that appearance he also told Matt Lauer he is a firm believer in using torture to get information from people behind attacks like the one in Brussels, stating; 'Waterboarding is fine.'
Stocks slide, safe-haven assets rise after Brussels attacks | 22 March 2016 | World stocks fell and safe-haven gold and government bonds rose on Tuesday after attacks on the airport and a rush-hour metro train in Brussels that triggered security alerts across western Europe. Travel sector stocks including airlines and hotels fell the most, pulling the broader indices down from multi-week highs, although stocks had clawed back some of their losses by midday and bonds and gold eased back from their earlier highs. U.S. futures pointed to a fall of almost half of one percent at the open on Wall Street.
Paris terror suspect was planning new attacks, Belgian official says | 20 March 2016 | Belgium’s foreign minister, Didier Reynders, said Sunday that terror suspect Salah Abdeslam, who was wanted in the terror attacks that shook Paris in November, was planning more attacks while he was hiding in Brussels. Until police found him Friday in the Molenbeek neighborhood in Brussels, he had been organizing a new "network of people" to launch assaults in European countries, Reynders said. Europe's most-wanted man, Abdeslam, 26, is the last known living operative connected to the Nov. 13 attacks on Paris, where 130 people were killed and many more were injured across the French capital. He eluded authorities for four months.
Paris terrorist Salah Abdeslam 'shot' in terror raid in Belgium | 18 March 2016 | [Alleged] Paris terrorist Salah Abdeslam has reportedly been caught alive in a massive terror raid by Belgian police. Two men have been shot, one of which is reportedly Abdeslam, who has been on the run since the atrocities committed in the French capital last year, according to Belgian newspaper La Libre. At least two terror operations took place in the Belgian capital of Brussels on Friday afternoon. The Belgian army also attended the scene, where 10 shots were heard and police used grenades before special forces entered the property in Molenbeek.
Gunmen attack EU military training base in Mali capital | 21 March 2016 | Gunmen on Monday attacked a hotel in Mali's capital Bamako that had been converted into a base for a European Union military training operation, but there no casualties among the mission's personnel. A witness said the attack targeted Bamako's Nord-Sud Hotel, headquarters for the mission of nearly 600 EU military personnel deployed to Mali to train its security forces.
More Marines headed to Iraq to fight ISIS after rocket attack | 20 March 2016 | The U.S. is sending a detachment of Marines to Iraq following a deadly attack on a coalition base in northern Iraq that left one Marine dead and eight more injured. The Marines and sailors headed to Iraq are with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, according to the U.S. task force running the war against the Islamic State group. It is not immediately clear how many Marines and sailors from the 26th MEU are deploying to Iraq or whether they are replacing any of the Marines injured in Saturday’s rocket attack.
Marine from Camp Lejeune killed by rocket fire in Iraq | 20 March 2016 | The U.S. Department of Defense says a coalition service member killed Saturday by enemy fire in northern Iraq was a Marine from Southern California. Officials say in a press release Sunday that Staff Sgt. Louis F. Cardin, of Temecula, died March 19 from wounds suffered when his unit was hit by rocket fire. A U.S. official told The Associated Press on Saturday that the attack occurred at the Makhmour base outside the Islamic State group-held city of Mosul.
2 Americans killed in Istanbul attack | 19 March 2016 | Two Americans were killed in an Istanbul suicide bombing Saturday, according to a White House release. The two Americans were among five people killed in a suicide attack in the Turkish city, and dozens more were injured. Two Israelis and one Iranian citizen were also killed in Saturday’s attack. CNN is reporting that the two Israelis were dual Israeli-American citizens, citing a source within the Israeli government.
Section of DIA evacuated because of possible suspicious package --Denver police have cleared part of main terminal on west side; DPD bomb squad on scene | 22 March 2016 | A section of Denver International Airport has been evacuated because of a possible suspicious package, officials said Tuesday. The Denver Police Department bomb squad is on scene. Denver police have cleared a part of the main terminal on the west side between doors 600 and 610 on level six and 500 to 510 on level five, according to an airport tweet. Level five is the bag claim and passenger pickup level, and level six is for passenger drop-off and check-in. Updated: No threat found at DIA; west side of main terminal to re-open.

The picture was one of several Souza posted to Instagram on Monday, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the president's monumental trip to reopen Cuban-American diplomatic relations. In another picture, White House staffers stare out the windows of Air Force One as the president landed in Havana on Sunday while other snapshots show the president holding an umbrella as he greeted Cubans in Old Havana later that day.
Obama heads for historic visit as Cuba rolls out red carpet | 20 March 2016 | President Barack Obama embarked on Sunday on a historic trip to Cuba where a Communist government that vilified the United States for decades prepared a red-carpet welcome. Lifting off from Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington, Obama headed for Havana where the sight of Air Force One, America's iconic presidential jet, touching down on Cuban soil would have been unimaginable not long ago. The three-day trip, the first by a U.S. president in 88 years, is the culmination of a diplomatic opening announced by Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro in December 2014, ending a Cold War-era estrangement that began when the Cuban revolution ousted a pro-American government in 1959.
Sanders wins Democrats Abroad vote in Israel and worldwide | 22 March 2016 | Candidate for the Democratic nomination for president Bernie Sanders overwhelmingly won Democrats Abroad's Global Presidential Primary, according to a press release by the organization of registered Democrats living outside of the US. Sanders received 69 percent of the vote, as opposed to Hillary Clinton's 31%. In Israel, Sanders won with 249 votes, while Clinton received 160. Democrats Abroad will be sending nine delegates to the Democratic National Convention to vote for Sanders and four for Clinton, as well as four unpledged delegate votes, made up of eight super-delegates, three of whom are committed to Clinton and one to Sanders.
At AIPAC, Biden slams settlement expansion, hails Iran nuclear deal | 22 March 2016 | US Vice President Joe Biden slammed Israeli settlement expansion, hailed the Iran nuclear deal, and condemned Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas for failing to condemn terror, in an address to the pro-Israel AIPAC lobby on Sunday. Biden used his speech before some 18,000 delegates gathered at Washington's Verizon Center to reiterate the American commitment to Israel's security. While vowing to protect Israel’s security, Biden was critical of Israeli and Palestinian leaders for failing to work towards peace.

Man shatters door at Donald Trump Jacksonville headquarters | 19 March 2016 | Donald Trump's campaign headquarters in Jacksonville will need some repairs after a man tried to break the window early Saturday morning. Campaign volunteers said a man tried to pick up a potted plant and smash the window. They said he couldn't pick it up and instead used a trash can from the street. Trump's campaign volunteers walked into a mess of shattered glass Saturday at the presidential candidate's headquarters in Jacksonville.
You Can't Live Here If You Are Voting for Donald Trump - Landlord | 20 March 2016 | (CO) A landlord in Grand Junction is not breaking the law by refusing to lease an apartment to anyone who supports Donald Trump for president. According to The Daily Sentinel in Grand Junction, Mark Holmes is renting out a two-bedroom apartment on Main Street, but he refuses to rent to anyone who supports Trump...Some thought Holmes was violating federal housing rules by discriminating against political affiliations, but that's not the case, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Donald Trump Adding Additional Security to Events | 20 March 2016 | Donald Trump's campaign said today it is beefing up security, after a string of protests and violence at the Republican presidential candidate's events. "We will be dedicating additional security resources to larger events in the future to prevent staff from having to intervene," campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in a statement to ABC News. The statement comes the day after an incident involving Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski at a campaign event in Tucson, Arizona, that was captured on video.
Anti-Trump protesters block Arizona road; march in New York | 20 March 2016 | Demonstrators briefly shut down an Arizona highway leading to a campaign rally for Donald Trump on Saturday while protesters rallied outside of Trump Tower in Manhattan to voice their opposition to the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination. Television news footage of the demonstration outside Phoenix showed dozens of protesters blocking traffic while holding signs that read "Dump Trump" and "Shut Down Trump." The demonstrators eventually started marching down the highway. Later, some were seen nearing the rally at Fountain Hills, Arizona, before Trump arrived.
Sheriff Arpaio: 3 arrested at roadblock protest | 19 March 2016 | Controversial Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who's leading the security at an Arizona Donald Trump rally, said on CNN his officers arrested three in a roadblock protest Saturday. Protestors in Fountain Hills, Arizona, shut down traffic heading to the Trump rally. Arpaio said that some cars were towed. "We're not going to let any demonstrators intimidate this forum or this sheriff in my town," Arpaio said.
