I started VoteVets shortly after returning from Iraq because the voices of progressive veterans just weren't being represented in Congress. It just wasn't happening.
And I thought, if I could start an organization that was dedicated to elevating the voices of progressive veterans and electing more of them to Congress, we would be safer as a country, and we could have a positive impact on the fights that impact veterans, military families, and all of us.
We would obviously never take credit for their victories, but we made a real impact in helping to elect some of the progressive veterans you like most:
Senator Tammy Duckworth, Representatives Ted Lieu, Ruben Gallego, Tulsi Gabbard, Seth Moulton and more.
But with Trump in office, we need more leaders like the ones above. More progressive veterans willing to stand up to an out of control Commander in Chief. We can't do it without you.
I would have never guessed in a million years when I got back from Iraq that we would be so successful in our electoral work, and also in influencing the important policy decisions and debates of the day.
That's only possible because of support from people like you. Thank you for that.
All my best,
Jon Soltz
