The Saga of Lindsey Graham
It's long, but it explains a lot!
Whatever happened to poor Lindsey Graham. We all remember when he walked shoulder to shoulder with Senator John McCain, standing not behind their party, but rather standing beside America. We looked upon them as two statesmen, examples of what we all wish our politicians would emulate.
Linsdey then ran for President, a decision of his which I was actually happy about. As a moderate Democrat who was not completely sold on Hillary Clinton, and if Lindsey had a successful run in the primaries, I would have had a very difficult decision on which candidate would receive my vote in the final election. During the Republican primaries Lindsey was the only candidate who returned fire on Trump’s sophomoric verbal assaults, calling Trump a “xenophobic, race baiting, religious bigot.” And when seeing Trump trying to appeal to Hispanic voters by eating a taco bowl on Cinqo de Mayo, Lindsey said, “Eating a taco is probably not going to fix the problems we have with Hispanics."
Lindsey, even though he lost in the primaries, situated himself as someone who would stand alone, defiant when the then ailing John McCain would ultimately pass. But then, after Trump won, and McCain’s health took a drastic turn for the worse, so did Lindsey. Like a victim of a kidnapping suffering from the “Stockholm Syndrome”, Lindsey may not have abandoned the friendship he had with John McCain, but he most certainly abandoned the integrity, honor and ethics the two shared, and became enamored with Trump, and captivated with all the vile and abhorrent behavior of the once despised chief executive. The questions raised from this are why and how?
Well, some things have slowly but surely have come to light to at least begin to establish the reason behind Lindsey’s metamorphosis towards a more corrupt nature. Let’s start with the one thing that most often corrupts politicians, money.
Ever since the Supreme Court voted to allow “Citizens United” to become a way for corporate America to buy our elections, a number of funding sources from outside the United States have been courted by a huge number of members of Congress for donations. Among these members of Congress begging for money from these foreign nationalists was our boy, Lindsey Graham. From a Ukrainian-born oligarch who is the business partner of Russian president Vladimir Putin's favorite oligarchs and a Russian government bank,”* In 2016, the last time Lindsey was on the ballot, he received $800,000 from this source alone. This “donation” from Len Blavatnik, a Russian oligarch was enhanced even further with another cash infusion of $57,000 from him and his family members.**
In addition, a campaign finance “report also contained information about a Chinese doctor of virology named Dr. Jian-Yun Dong, who was convicted of illegally arranging for millions of dollars in donations to Lindsey Graham’s political campaigns. This activity came after Graham personally helped Dong obtain nearly $20 million in Congressional earmarks from the United States Military and the National Institutes of Health.”#
As deceitful as this practice is, Lindsey is not alone in his pandering to foreign nationals for cash, with a quick google search you can find at least 40 more Senators alone who have stuffed their campaign war chests with Russian money. So what else could Trump have to hold over Lindsey’s head to keep him as a loyal lacky? Maybe Roger Stone may have a part to play in this little opera.
In 2016, after the Democratic servers were hacked, a little something that slipped under the eyes of most Americans also occurred. We all heard about Hillary’s emails being hacked, most of us heard of John Podesta’s emails being hacked as well, funneled through Julian Asange into the hands of Trump confidant and convicted felon Roger Stone. But how many of us heard about the email server of Senator Lindsey Graham being hacked by these sources as well?
In December of 2016, Lindsey Graham revealed that the company who handles his emails informed him in August that his email accounts were hacked in June. Now, in June, Lindsey Graham was still palling around with John McCain, and was a staunch antagonist of Donald Trump. “On May 6, 2016, Graham announced he would not vote for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, commenting: "I think Donald Trump is going to places where very few people have gone and I'm not going with him."”
Now, imagine someone knowing all your most intimate of secrets. Someone who is not an altruistic person, but an evil, maniacal tyrant who is baron of any decency or morality. What would you do to insure this person hides your secrets? Especially when your career hinges upon some personal as well as professional secrets.
If any U.S. Senator had their email hacked, there would be a full investigation by the full strength of the U.S. Intelligence, investigative and law enforcement agencies. But what if the Senator knew who had the information, and the person who had the information was quite adept at “QUID PRO QUO”. If that Senator wanted to stay in office, he would not only tow the water of the person with the information, he would warm that water, bathe the blackmailer and drink the bath water if the blackmailer asked him to do so.
So, the edges of the puzzle is now finally complete, the body is slowly coming together with just the final picture to be determined.
A note to Lindsey, if you are so afraid of your personal secrets becoming public, it is better to be true to yourself and those around you, to stand up and take the hits that may come your way, and continue to be a man of high ideals than it is to bend before a malevolent, sub human snake. For no matter how low the snake is, it will be you who will always be made to bow even lower.
