The deal says Webster, who runs a private practice in Pembroke, will lose his law license for nine months. Webster admitted to misusing a client’s funds in 2009 and 2010.

Dear Massachusetts Republican Party:
Is this the best you can do?
Come on! Ya gotta do better than this!
Ex-representative Daniel Webster seeking GOP state committee seat
BOSTON —
Former state representative Daniel Webster is attempting a comeback to Republican Party politics, seeking a seat on the state committee to counter what he describes as a relationship too cozy between some Republicans and Beacon Hill Democrats and a misplaced focus on trying to win high-profile campaigns for governor and U.S. Senate.
Webster, who abruptly ended his 2012 re-election campaign after narrowly surviving a primary write-in challenge from a former aide, is seeking to replace Rick Greeley as one of two state committeemen from the Second Plymouth & Bristol District.
Greeley is stepping down from the state committee, and a caucus is planned for Thursday night in Halifax to select his replacement. Halifax Republican Town Committeeman Gordon Andrews is also running for the seat.
Webster did not return a call for comment. His voicemail identifies himself as “attorney Daniel Webster” even though his law license won’t be reinstated until November.
During his time in the Legislature, Webster became one of the House's most conservative members representing a district from 2003 through 2012 that now includes Pembroke, Duxbury and Hanson.
Democrat Josh Cutler of Duxbury succeeded him in the House.
