US secretly created 'Cuban Twitter' to stir unrest and
undermine government
--USAid started ZunZuneo, a social network built on texts, in hope it could be
used to organize 'smart mobs' to trigger Cuban spring 03 Apr 2014 In
July 2010, Joe McSpedon, a US government official, flew to Barcelona to put the
final touches on a secret plan to build a social media project aimed at
undermining Cuba's government. McSpedon and his team of high-tech contractors
had come in from Costa Rica and Nicaragua, Washington and Denver. Their mission:
to launch a messaging network that could reach hundreds of thousands of
Cubans...McSpedon didn't work for the CIA. This was a program paid for and run
by the US Agency for International Development, best known for overseeing
billions of dollars in US
humanitarian aid to install and protect US
dictatorships.

Secret CIA Torture Report to Be
Released 03 Apr 2014 A US Senate
panel has approved the declassification of a secret report that criticises the
CIA's treatment of terror suspects after 9/11. The Senate Intelligence Committee
voted 11-3 to release key parts of the 6,300-page report that concluded
waterboarding and other "enhanced interrogation methods" were excessively cruel
and ineffective. The review concludes that waterboarding and other harsh techniques tortures provided
no key evidence in the hunt for terror suspects, including Osama bin
Laden.
Missing Plane: Malaysia 'Concealing
Information' --'There
is no reason as to why they are not able to detect the flight
movement.' 04 Apr 2014 The Malaysian government has been deliberately
concealing information about missing flight MH370, the country's main opposition
leader has claimed. In an interview with Sky News, Anwar Ibrahim cast doubt on
official accounts coming from the authorities in his country and accused
ministers of a "betrayal of trust" over their handling of the investigation.
Veteran politician Anwar said it was "not only unacceptable but not possible,
not feasible" that the plane had not been sighted by the sophisticated Marconi
radar system immediately after it changed course. He claimed the radar would
have instantly detected the jet as it travelled east to west across "at least
four" Malaysian provinces.
Malaysia jet probe turns to food,
cargo 02 Apr 2014 Malaysia
investigators said Wednesday they may never find out why a Malaysia Airlines
jetliner vanished without a trace more than three weeks ago as search planes and
ships scoured the Indian Ocean for wreckage. "At the end of the investigations,
we may not even know the real cause. We may not even know the reason for this
incident," Inspector General Khalid Abu Bakar said. Khalid also said
investigators are checking on the provider of the food delivered to the plane
before takeoff to eliminate the possibility that it had been poisoned, and are
looking into the cargo loaded onto the jet.

Bombs for peace: NATO marks 65 year
anniversary 04 Apr 2014 NATO was
long touted as a post-WWII body of collective security, though few on the wrong
end of its bombing campaigns have felt any safer for it. Here are a few reasons
why 65 years of NATO haven't made the world a better place. NATO was founded as
a post WWII force "to keep the Americans in, the Russians out and the Germans
down."

Fort Hood Shooting After 'Escalating
Argument' 05 Apr 2014 A soldier who
[allegedly] shot dead three colleagues at an US Army base had been involved in
an "escalating argument" before the attack. The senior officer at Fort Hood said
Ivan Lopez had an altercation with fellow soldiers in his unit on the day of the
shooting. Lieutenant General Mark Milley also said the 34-year-old's mental
condition was not the "direct precipitating factor" in the attack. The three
soldiers Lopez shot dead before turning the gun on himself have been identified
as 39-year-old Daniel Ferguson, 38-year-old Carlos Rodriguez and 37-year-old
Timothy Owens.
Fort Hood Gunman 'Showed No Signs of
Violence' 04 Apr 2014 The Fort Hood
gunman had shown no signs of violence or suicidal tendencies before he opened
fire at the US Army base, officials have said. Investigators are still trying to
determine why the soldier - 34-year-old Specialist Ivan Lopez - killed three and
injured 16 others before 'turning the gun on himself.' Lieutenant General Mark
Milley said there is a "strong possibility" Lopez had a verbal altercation with
another soldier or soldiers prior to the shooting. But he urged caution against
speculating on any possible motive until the investigation had run its course
and said there was no indication he targeted specific troops.
Craigslist ad: Contractor seeking role players for 'mass
casualty exercise' on Fort Hood 03
Apr 2014 (Before It's News) A Craigslist ad weeks ago looking for role players for
a military mock simulated disaster at Fort Hood has 'conspiracy theorists'
worked into a frenzy as another sign that this was a very poorly played out
false flag. A screenshot of the Craigslist ad is below the
video. A second Craigslist Ad, this time for a 'military mock
simulated disaster' at Ft. Dix is provided.
Alleged shooter bought his gun from same shop as 2009 Fort
Hood gunman 03 Apr 2014 The soldier
allegedly behind Wednesday's deadly shooting at Fort Hood bought his gun on
March 1 from the same place the 2009 Fort Hood shooter got his weapon. Army
officials Thursday afternoon identified the suspected murderer as Spc. Ivan
Lopez, 34, a Puerto Rican father of three who authorities say had no record of
misbehavior. Army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan was convicted and sentenced to death
last year in the Nov. 5, 2009, attack at Fort Hood. The Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives traced the gun used in Wednesday's attack to a
local gun shop last night, a federal law enforcement official who is not
authorized to comment publicly said. The official confirmed that the gun had
been purchased at Guns Galore, the same shop that sold a weapon to
Hasan.

labeling laws 04 Apr 2014 Rep. Mike
Pompeo [R-Koch troll] will introduce legislation backed by powerful trade groups
to prevent states from passing laws requiring the labeling of
genetically-modified foods, according to reports. The bill is linked to biotech
giant Monsanto and Koch Industries. The bill includes a "prohibition against
mandatory labeling," according to The Hill, echoing powerful interest groups that have
already declared war against such "right to know" labeling laws around the
nation.
Christie press secretary testifies before bridge scandal grand
jury 04 Apr 2014 A grand jury is now
hearing testimony in the federal criminal probe into the George Washington
Bridge lane-closings scandal, according to Anthony Iacullo, the lawyer for Gov.
Chris Christie's spokesman, Michael Drewniak, who added that Drewniak appeared
before the grand jurors today and testified as a witness. Legal experts say the
hearing of grand-jury testimony is an important development that means U.S.
Attorney Paul Fishman has accumulated enough evidence to move past a preliminary
inquiry into the controversial lane closings and into a grand jury investigation
of them.
Scott Walker's 'Observers' to Be Three Feet Away in Voting
Booth 03 Apr 2014 The Milwaukee
Journal Sentinel reports: 'Election observers could stand a few feet from voters and
poll workers, under one of a series of election bills Gov. Scott Walker signed
in private Wednesday. The law would allow observers [aka thugs sent to intimidate the elderly and minorities, to
minimize registration/turnout for Democrats] to stand 3 to 8
feet from the table where voters announce their names and addresses and are
issued voter numbers, or from the table where people register to vote.'
Democratic opponents of the proposal warned of intimidation, voter harassment,
and according to one state senator, observers "breathing down the necks of poll
workers." They did not, however, have the votes to stop the
measure.
Wisconsin governor signs bill ending early weekend
voting 27 Mar 2014 Wisconsin
Governor [Koch troll] Scott Walker on Thursday signed a measure into law that
eliminates absentee voting on weekends ahead of elections but vetoed a provision
that restricted weekday voting hours across the state. Wisconsin law allows
voters to cast absentee ballots by mail or hand them in to their polling places
before election day. Supporters have said the new law creates uniform and fair
rules, while critics have said it disenfranchises voters. Walker, a Republican
who is seeking re-election, vetoed a part of the bill the majority Republican
legislature approved that capped voting at 45 hours per week.
Florida Gov. Rick
Scott's 2012 voter purge violated federal law, court
rules 01 Apr 2014 Florida Gov. Rick
Scott's [R] administration violated federal law by trying to remove
'noncitizens' from the voter rolls too close to the 2012 presidential election,
a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday in calling the mistake-prone effort "far
from perfect." The decision by a three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit
Court of Appeals in Atlanta invalidated the purge efforts by the Department of
State... Federal law prohibits states from "systematic" removals of voters less
than 90 days before a federal primary or general election.

within the state.
Peek-a-boo: Beautiful moment polar bear and her cub poke their
heads out of their den after 8 days
04 Apr 2014 Emerging from its den with its mother, a polar bear cub raises its
head above the snow and looks out at the freezing world it calls home. Wildlife
photographer Christine Haines captured the images after she spent eight days
watching the den. Her patience in the biting cold of the Wapusk National Park in
Manitoba, Canada, was rewarded when she managed to capture pictures of first a
cub, then its mother peeking out of their hole.
