When the us ships chicken to china to be "processed", how do we know we're getting "chicken" back?
Unlike South Korea, China does not commercially farm dogs for their meat, so the dog meat industry relies heavily upon stray dogs and beloved companions abducte...d from their families in mostly urban areas. To prevent escape during capture, there has been mounting evidence of poisoning dogs, which can lead to potentially catastrophic consequences of a SARS-like public health disaster (the virus that caused SARS—mutated coronavirus—in Guangdung, China, in 2012, is assumed to have originated from dogs and cats living in appalling conditions, where transmission of disease is rampant). Apparently, thieves round up the dogs and keep them hidden away until their number is large enough to fill up the trucks for transport to markets.
