Breaking: Ferguson
police officer Darren Wilson will not be indicted - St. Louis County grand
jury 24 Nov 2014 A white police officer will not face charges for
fatally shooting an unarmed black teenager in a case that set off violent
protests and racial unrest throughout the nation, an attorney close to the case
said Monday night. A St. Louis County grand jury declined to indict officer
Darren Wilson, 28, for firing six shots in an August confrontation that killed
18-year-old Michael Brown, said Benjamin Crump, an attorney for the family. The
decision had been long awaited and followed rioting that resembled war-zone news
footage in this predominantly black suburb of St. Louis. Prosecutors scheduled
an news conference to announce the decision.

Oath Keepers to Organize Security Team to 'Protect Businesses' in
Ferguson 24 Nov 2014 By Oath Keepers: We are looking for
volunteers who are able to travel to Ferguson, Missouri (preferably those within
reasonable driving range). We have some Oath Keepers near Ferguson who
are attempting to organize a security team to defend minority owned businesses
there...See below for a list of specific skill-sets and experience we are
looking for, and who you need to contact if you want to volunteer. Here are the
skills/experience we are looking for:
1. Police Officers (preferably with 5 years or more experience) street cops or corrections.
2. Forward deployed assets, such as scouts, with binocular range finder and requisite equipment, and the right field experience.
3. Communications experts, HAM and/or FRS radios.
4. Direct action infantry (11B or 0311), need to have own gear, such as body armor, tactical lights and cold weather gear. etc. Personal Security Detail training and experience a plus.
5. Photographers with video and still-camera, preferably with combat experience, or similar high stress field experience. Also, we prefer that they have their own body armor and cold weather gear.
6. Private drone operators, with drone mounted cameras.
7. Truck drivers (4WD) (military experience preferred).

Decision 21 Nov 2014 The FBI has sent about
100 agents [agents provocateurs] to the St. Louis area to help deal with any create problems
that could arise from the grand jury decision in the police shooting of Ferguson
teenager Michael Brown. In addition to the FBI, other federal agencies have also
mobilized staffers to get to St. Louis today, sources told ABC News...The FBI
has ordered its Ferguson contingent to mobilize and arrive in the St. Louis area
today.
Defense Secretary Hagel, under pressure, submits

Chuck Hagel bowed to pressure from the White House and submitted his resignation
Monday after less than two years in the job, a casualty of the Obama
administration's infighting over national-security policy, especially regarding
the Middle East. Hagel said he will remain at the Pentagon until Obama can pick
a replacement, who must then be confirmed by the Senate. Contenders include
Michele Flournoy and Ashton Carter, former high-ranking defense officials during
Obama's first term who were passed over for the top job in favor of
Hagel.

Fukushima village holds nuclear crisis drill [Gee, looks like the horse is out of the barn on that
one.] 22 Nov 2014 An evacuation drill took place in the Fukushima
Prefecture village of Kawauchi on Saturday, based on the scenario of a[nother]
serious accident occurring at Tokyo Electric Power Co.'s Fukushima No. 1 nuclear
power plant. It was the first such exercise in the prefecture since the plant's
triple meltdown in March 2011. About 260 residents and roughly 1,000 officials
from local governments and the Nuclear Regulation Authority took part in the
drill, which was organized by the prefectural and Kawauchi municipal
governments.

UK faces biggest terrorism threat in

is facing the biggest terrorism threat in its history and has foiled around 40
major plots since suicide bombers attacked London in 2005, Home Secretary
Theresa May said on Monday. The government
would on Wednesday set out new laws to take on the militants, May added,
including legislation making it easier for security services to track attackers
online, and check if radicalized fighters were flying into
Britain...Planned new measures include giving police the power
to seize for up to 30 days the passports of British and foreign nationals
suspected of traveling to take part in terrorist-related activities, said
May. The new laws will also make it easier for police to identify who is
using an Internet service at any given time.
Lockdown lifted at Fort Sam Houston after 1 man
detained --'Suspicious' driver
detained on post 23 Nov 2014 (TX) A lockdown at Fort Sam Houston was
lifted Sunday shortly after 9 p.m. after one man was detained. The lockdown was
called for around 5:30 p.m. in response to activity involving a suspicious
vehicle, according to a spokesperson with the post. The driver of the vehicle
was detained on the post after officials deemed him to be suspicious. The
spokesperson did not say why the man was deemed suspicious.
NORAD jets conducting exercise this week in the Washington
area 23 Nov 2014 If you’re in the
Washington area Monday night into Tuesday morning and hear low-flying
helicopters or planes overhead -- it's an exercise. The North American Aerospace
Defense Command, also known as NORAD, will conduct a test between midnight and 2
a.m. Tuesday to practice interception and identification
procedures.
Police call for public's help to stop
terrorism threats --Officers are
holding [propaganda] talks at venues including schools and shops to raise
awareness of the threat of terrorism. 24 Nov 2014 Countering terrorism
should not be the sole responsibility of the police and security agencies, says
the head of counter terrorism in Wales. Assistant Chief Constable Nikki Holland
said the public and businesses also had a part to play. Police have launched a
week-long, anti-terrorism campaign in Wales.
Anti-Terrorism and Security Bill: Internet data plan back on
political agenda 23
Nov 2014 A law forcing communications firms to keep details that could help
identify criminals using the internet is being planned by the home secretary.
The measure is to be introduced in the Anti-Terrorism and Security Bill. It
means data on Internet Protocol addresses linked to individual mobile phones and
computers could be passed on to police and the security services. The Lib Dems,
who called an earlier bill a snooper's charter, welcomed the move but are
opposed to extra powers.
Pregnant Egyptian woman dies of H1N1 swine flu - health
ministry 23 Nov 2014 An Egyptian woman who
was six months pregnant has died of H1N1 swine flu, five days after being
admitted to hospital, a health ministry spokesman said on Sunday. The
31-year-old woman, who was not named, was admitted on Nov. 18 with flu-like
symptoms and was placed in intensive care when she did not respond to treatment,
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said. "We thought it was bird flu, but she tested positive
for the H1N1 flu instead," Ghaffar said.
Germany reports second case of bird flu: H5N8 found in wild
bird 22 Nov 2014 German authorities on
Saturday confirmed a second case of the H5N8 strain of bird flu in the eastern
state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, with the virus found in a wild bird. The strain
is highly contagious among birds but has never been detected in humans. "For the
first time, the H5N8 virus has been confirmed in a wild bird in
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern," Agriculture Minister Christian Schmidt said in a
statement.
School expels 8-year-old daughter whose mother refused to give her
vaccine booster shot that family doctor deemed unsafe 23 Nov 2014 A showdown over [deadly] vaccinations has erupted in a
Long Island town after the mother of an 8-year-old was told by her doctor that a
new school district rule requires children to get a booster shot at too young an
age. Ceili McNicholas was expelled from Long Island's Laddie A. Decker Sound
Beach School last week after her mother Jamie refused to let her receive the
Tdap booster, which 'protects against' tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis.
McNicholas said her daughter's doctor wouldn't administer the shot, which is a
new requirement of the Miller Place Union Free School District, because it's
recommended only for children over 10 years old...The rule states that, until
she gets the shot, Ceili simply may not attend her school.
Marion Barry, Former Mayor of Washington, Dies at
78 23 Nov 2014 Marion S. Barry Jr., a
sharecropper's son and civil rights pioneer who became a flamboyant and
polarizing mayor of Washington, went to prison on dr-g charges and then
recaptured City Hall in one of the most improbable comebacks in the history of
American politics, died early Sunday in Washington. He was 78. Mr. Barry died at
United Medical Center in Southeast Washington just hours after he was released
from Howard University Hospital on Saturday.
