Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump face off in their first debate tonight at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. This is the first of three presidential debates this fall (see schedule below). Watch live on C-SPAN and C-SPAN2, and engage in the conversation with calls, tweets and e-mails.


C-SPAN programming for each debate night will include:

7:30 pm One-hour debate preview that explains the format, rules and questions.
8:30 pm We take you inside the debate hall 30 minutes prior to the start. Hear remarks from the Commission on Presidential Debates, university president and debate moderator.
9 pm Debate airs LIVE in split-screen and single-camera feed on C-SPAN and C-SPAN2.
10:30 pm Post debate reaction shown LIVE on C-SPAN where the viewers, listeners and social media commenters have the platform to gauge America's reaction to the debate.
10:30 pm LIVE coverage from the spin room on C-SPAN2.
11:30 pm Debate re-airs on C-SPAN.
1 am Post debate reaction shown LIVE on C-SPAN with viewer calls and social media comments after the re-air.
