Where there’s smoke…there’s fire!

Your Center for Auto Safety is turning up the heat on Hyundai, Kia, and the U.S. Department of Transportation—and they are feeling it. Following our recent letter asking for a Congressional investigation into Kia and Hyundai car fires, news media from across the country (and internationally) have picked up the story and are running with it. From Denver to Detroit and from California to Canada we want to keep pushing these manufacturers—and NHTSA to fix these cars before the next fire. But instead of fixing it, the industry has done what it always does—hire more DC insiders. This time, one of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s closest aides is going to work for the Association of Global Automakers, where Kia and Hyundai are members. And let’s not forget that Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao’s husband…is none other than that same Senator McConnell.
