Yesterday afternoon, Donald Trump was asked if the United States is planning a military strike on Iran.
His answer was disturbing. He said, “You’ll find out soon.”
So today, we need to ask you to do something important. We need to ask you to sign our petition urging Congress to repeal the 2001 AUMF that would be used as justification for war with Iran.
Now, you may be wondering, what is a petition going to do? And the answer is that we talk to a lot of members of Congress and most of the presidential candidates. And what we want to tell them is that VoteVets members – many of them veterans – oppose war with Iran.
So here’s the ask:
It is time for Congress to reassert its role as the branch of government responsible for declaring war. They can’t let John Bolton’s bloodlust drag our country into a military disaster.
Thanks for making your voice heard.
All my best,
