Massachusetts is BUSINESS FRIENDLY! We can't be BOUGHT!

Promoters of Predatory Gambling in Massachusetts wrongly claim REPEAL THE CASINO DEAL would send a signal that Massachusetts is not BUSINESS FRIENDLY....They're WRONG!

"On the contrary. Repealing the law sends the message that deep-pocketed corporations can't come to Massachusetts; hire influential lobbyists to persuade politicians to change our laws; do it against the will of the people; and expect to get away with it."

Massachusetts voters are SAVVY and don't believe the propaganda.

Please join and support REPEAL THE CASINO DEAL!

Let's work together to protect ALL Massachusetts communities.

REPEAL THE CASINO DEAL!

We’ve seen what the proposals by Gambling
Interests have done to communities around the
Commonwealth.

Money is lavishly spent, grand promises made
that will never be fulfilled and grassroots activists
are unable to compete.

Once approved, projects become ‘Bait & Switch,’
such as Plainridge where a Mega Entertainment
venue is now included. And Palmer where the
proposal is not what was promised.

Taunton, Plainville, Milford and Palmer lack
adequate water for the proposals.

Revenues and Jobs are grossly overstated and
the truth is overshadowed by proponents.
[Easily disproven.] Jobs are mostly low wage,
lacking wages that will eliminate taxpayer
subsidies for food stamps, housing, etc.

Requisite infrastructure costs are ignored.
Suffolks Downs alone will cost ALL Massachusetts
taxpayers + $500 MILLION! Big Dig anyone?

All this at a time of Gambling Market Saturation
and the industry’s declining revenues.

Will we, as taxpayers, end up bailing out insolvent
Gambling interests?

This makes no sense. Let’s just be done with it!
Opponents of Predatory Gambling across
the Commonwealth are gathering petition
signatures to add their voices and allow
voters an opportunity to express their
opposition on the ballot.

The site recently added a new feature:

5 Signatures

Download the petition and ask your friends
and family to help put this on the ballot.

[Remember, names on a petition must all
be from the same city/town. Download
another petition if you add a different
community. Then just MAIL!]

Time is growing short, so speak out NOW!

It’s time to protect ALL Massachusetts
communities from the ultimate 1% Scam
to suck $$$ from those least able to
afford it!

REPEAL THE CASINO DEAL!

Please pass this website along to any e-mail lists you have and promote on
social media.

5signatures.com

This will supplement all our efforts to collect signatures at churches, in
front of grocery stores, at town meetings and elections, and at the Red
Sox parade this weekend and over the next few weeks.

There’s an old Russian proverb: “If everyone gives a thread, the poor man
will have a shirt.” Our goal is to find 10,000 people willing to collect
5 signatures and get us half-way to the 100,000 signatures we need.

Have you signed the RTCD Petition Yet?

REPEAL THE CASINO DEAL is a statewide, grassroots ogranization gathering signatures to allow Massachusetts voters to cast a ballot......

SIGN THE PETITION to put a question on the 2014 ballot allowing citizens a chance

to vote on the casino deal. Here’s why:

  • Nearly all Massachusetts voters have been denied an opportunity to cast a ballot on the casino deal that impacts citizens in every community
  • The casino deal was written to benefit lobbyists, special interests and politicians who brought casino gambling to Massachusetts, not the public interest
  • Casino operators received the privilege of a regional monopoly and avoided paying for all the social costs they bring with them. You’ll pay for their bill.

  • Because casino revenues are unstable and declining, the resulting hole in government budgets will require new tax increases that impact everyone
  • Government-promoted casinos, like those proposed here, have proven to be a failure and required taxpayer money to bail them out (Delaware most recently)
  • The lobbyists misled the public about the salaries and quality of casino employment: most casino jobs pay very little and have high rates of turnover

  • Three local casinos and a slots parlor are not sustainable for a region already oversaturated with casinos, evidenced by spiraling revenues in CT & RI

Take Action and Get Involved

Who is Repeal the Casino Deal? We’re a volunteer, statewide coalition of public health, municipal, family, community, faith-based leaders and concerned citizens from all walks of life in Massachusetts. We want a voice and a vote on the bad deal that was passed to allow state government to promote casino gambling to citizens. Please help us collect signatures and donate today.
